Location: Baoxiang Kingdom Palace (End of Chapter 4)
The Yellow-Robed Demon is a cunning and powerful shapeshifter, capable of both human-like martial arts and monstrous transformations. This fight requires adaptability and quick reactions to his changing forms.
Attack Patterns:
- Human Form: Fast sword combos, quick dodges, and occasional ranged energy slashes. Vulnerable to parries.
- Beast Form (Tiger/Wolf): Transforms into a large, aggressive beast. Powerful claw swipes, pounces, and a roar that can stun. Less vulnerable to parries, more to dodging.
- Poison Cloud (Both Forms): Releases a cloud of poison. Dodge out of it immediately.
- Shapeshift Combo (Phase 2): Rapidly shifts between human and beast forms during a single attack sequence.
- Shadow Clone (Phase 2): Creates a temporary shadow clone that mimics his attacks. Focus on the main body.
Strategy:
Phase 1 (100%-50% HP): In his human form, focus on parrying his sword attacks to create openings. He's very agile, so don't overcommit. When he transforms into his beast form, switch to a dodge-heavy strategy, getting hits in after his pounces or heavy swipes. Be mindful of his Poison Cloud, always prioritize getting out of it.
Phase 2 (Below 50% HP): The Yellow-Robed Demon becomes much more unpredictable. His Shapeshift Combo can be disorienting; try to anticipate his next form based on his wind-up. The Shadow Clone adds pressure, so try to keep both in view. 'Golden Gaze' can be very effective here to stun him and get free hits, especially when he's in his human form. Consider using 'Stone Ape Form' to tank hits if you're struggling with his beast form, or 'Swift Fox Form' for increased evasion against his human form. This fight is a test of your ability to adapt on the fly.
Weakness: Human form vulnerable to parries. Beast form vulnerable to magic damage. Both forms susceptible to 'Stun' effects.
Reward: 'Demon's Essence' (Crafting Material), 2000 Essence, unlocks 'Shapeshift Mastery' passive.
