Boss's Settlement Overview
Boss's Settlement is a ruined series of buildings located high in the mountains near Idle Camp within the Zone of Contamination. This area consists of 3 ruined buildings and one intact shed. While there is no true indoor shelter, a Warm Cave known as Scaffolder's Hideout is a short walk across a wooden bridge, offering a safe haven from the elements.
Wildlife and Loot
The settlement is a good spot for hunting, with Ptarmigans and Rabbits spawning nearby. Search the ruined buildings for containers that may hold valuable loot. A vista location can be found at the cliff side overlooking the railroad, providing a scenic view.
Forgotten Exploration
Between Turbulent Pasture and Harrowed Residence in the Zone of Contamination lies Forgotten Exploration, a location with a very warm interior. This mine is ideal for outdoor resting if you have a Bedroll. Inside, you can find resources such as Coal, Scrap Metal, Lockers, and Reclaimed Wood. An Emergency Kit might spawn in the easternmost section of the mine, in a large room with a single column, after climbing the scaffolding.
A Page From A Journal
At Boss's Settlement, you can discover "A Page From A Journal," a collectible for the Buried Echoes Tale in Survival Mode. The journal entry describes the mine as a "graveyard" with "unwell" wolves and pollution. It hints at a "deeper darkness" and a "mystery buried in those tunnels," with the lowest levels being inaccessible due to suffocation risk.
