Boss's Encampment is a ruined settlement located high in the mountains within the Zone of Contamination, near Idle Camp. This area consists of three ruined buildings and one intact shed, offering limited direct shelter. For warmth and safety, the Scaffolder's Hideout, a Warm Cave, is a short walk across a wooden bridge.

Boss's Encampment Overview

The Boss's Encampment is a high-altitude location in the Zone of Contamination, characterized by its ruined structures. While the buildings themselves offer little protection from the elements, the nearby Scaffolder's Hideout provides a crucial Warm Cave for survival. The area is also a source for wildlife, with Ptarmigans and Rabbits spawning frequently, providing opportunities for hunting. Loot can be found in containers scattered throughout the ruined buildings.

Forgotten Exploration

Forgotten Exploration is another key location within the Zone of Contamination, situated between Turbulent Pasture and Harrowed Residence. This mine features a very warm interior, making it an excellent spot for resting, especially if carrying a Bedroll. Resources such as Coal, Scrap Metal, Lockers, and Reclaimed Wood are abundant inside. An Emergency Kit can be found in the easternmost section of the mine, in a large room accessible after climbing scaffolding.

Historical Context

The Boss's Encampment is believed to have served as the headquarters for Dr. Rüdiger or the Langston Mine Foreman. It likely played a role in overseeing the construction of the machine within the mine and was subsequently burned down to conceal events that transpired before the mine's evacuation.
