Soul Badges & Mystic Badges
Soul Badges and Mystic Badges are crucial endgame accessories in Blade & Soul, offering significant enhancements to your character's skills and overall combat effectiveness. Understanding how to acquire and fuse them is key to maximizing your damage output and utility in challenging content.
Soul Badges
Soul Badges modify specific skills, often reducing cooldowns, increasing damage, or adding new effects. They are essential for optimizing your rotation and playstyle.
Acquisition of Soul Badges
There are two primary methods for obtaining Soul Badges:
- Tower of Infinity: This solo dungeon is a primary source.
- Strategy: Ascend the Tower of Infinity as high as you can. Upon completion of certain floors, you will receive Tower of Infinity Soul Badges or Tower of Infinity Fragments. These fragments can be exchanged at the Tower of Infinity Merchant (located at the entrance of the Tower of Infinity in Mushin's Tower) for specific Soul Badges.
- Recommended Floors: Aim for at least Floor 15 for a good chance at useful fragments. Higher floors yield more fragments and better rewards.
- PvP Merchants: For those who enjoy player-versus-player combat.
- Location: Head to the Zen Bean Exchange Merchant in Jadestone Village or Zaiwei.
- Currency: You will need Zen Beans, which are earned by participating in PvP arenas (e.g., 1v1, 3v3).
- Exchange: Certain basic Soul Badges can be purchased directly with Zen Beans.
Fusing Soul Badges (Unified Badges)
Once you have two compatible Soul Badges, you can fuse them into a more powerful Unified Badge. This process requires specific materials.
- Identify Compatible Badges: Each class has a set of Soul Badges that can be fused. For example, a Force Master might fuse a Glacial Soul Badge with an Inferno Soul Badge to create a Transcendent Soul Badge. Check your class guides or the F8 Dungeon Journal for specific combinations.
- Gather Materials:
- Soul Badge: The two specific Soul Badges you wish to fuse.
- Sacred Orb: Obtained from daily challenges, certain dungeons (e.g., Ebondrake Citadel, Naryu Foundry), or purchased from the Dragon Express.
- Silverfrost Transformation Stone: Crafted via the Soul Wardens profession or purchased from the marketplace.
- Gold: A significant amount of gold is required for the fusion fee.
- Visit the Badge Merchant: Go to the Soul Badge Merchant located in Jadestone Village or Zaiwei. Select the "Fuse Soul Badges" option.
- Perform Fusion: Place the two Soul Badges and the required materials into the fusion interface and confirm. The result will be a new, more potent Unified Badge.
Mystic Badges
Mystic Badges are a later-game progression, offering even more specialized and powerful skill enhancements. They are often tied to specific raid content.
Acquisition of Mystic Badges
Mystic Badges are primarily acquired through high-level raid content:
- Skybreak Spire: This 12-person raid is the initial source for many Mystic Badges.
- Boss Drops: Specific bosses within Skybreak Spire (e.g., Emperor Gunjin, Raven King) drop Skybreak Spire Mystic Badges or Raven King's Soul Fragments.
- Weekly Quests: Completing the weekly quest for Skybreak Spire can also reward fragments or even a full badge.
- Temple of Eluvium / Scion's Keep: Later raids introduce new tiers of Mystic Badges.
- Boss Drops: Similar to Skybreak Spire, bosses in these raids will drop their respective Mystic Badges or fragments (e.g., Temple of Eluvium Mystic Badges, Scion's Keep Mystic Badges).
- Raid Merchants: Fragments obtained from raids can be exchanged at the respective raid merchants (e.g., Skybreak Spire Exchange Merchant outside the raid entrance) for the desired Mystic Badge.
Fusing Mystic Badges (Combined Badges)
Similar to Soul Badges, Mystic Badges can be fused to create even stronger Combined Badges.
- Identify Compatible Badges: Consult your class guides or the F8 Dungeon Journal for the specific Mystic Badge combinations that yield a Combined Badge. These often combine a raid-specific Mystic Badge with a crafted or event-obtained Mystic Badge.
- Gather Materials:
- Mystic Badge: The two specific Mystic Badges you wish to fuse.
- Sacred Orb: As with Soul Badges, these are crucial.
- Empyrean Spirit Charm: A rare material obtained from high-level daily challenges, certain events, or crafting via the Soul Wardens profession.
- Gold: A substantial gold cost is involved.
- Visit the Badge Merchant: Return to the Soul Badge Merchant in Jadestone Village or Zaiwei. Select the "Fuse Mystic Badges" option.
- Perform Fusion: Place the two Mystic Badges and the required materials into the fusion interface and confirm. This will grant you a powerful Combined Badge, significantly enhancing your character's potential.
Always prioritize obtaining the Soul and Mystic Badges that best complement your chosen skill build and playstyle. Experiment with different combinations to find what works best for you in both PvE and PvP content.
