Mail System & Storage

Efficiently managing your inventory and communicating with other players is crucial in Blade & Soul. The Mail System and Storage facilities are your primary tools for this. Understanding how to use them effectively will save you time, inventory space, and allow for smoother transactions.

The Mail System

The Mail System in Blade & Soul allows you to send items, gold, and messages to other players. It's also where you'll receive system messages, event rewards, and items from the Auction House.

Accessing Your Mailbox

  • Anywhere: You can open your mailbox from anywhere in the world by pressing the default hotkey P. This will bring up the Mail interface.
  • Mail Carriers: For sending mail, you'll need to visit a Mail Carrier NPC. These NPCs are typically found in major cities and towns, often near the Auction House or Storage Keeper. Look for an NPC with a mailbag icon above their head.

Sending Mail

  1. Locate a Mail Carrier: As mentioned, find a Mail Carrier NPC in a town like Jadestone Village, Bamboo Village, or Zaiwei.
  2. Open the Mail Interface: Interact with the Mail Carrier.
  3. Select "Send Mail": Click on the "Send Mail" tab within the interface.
  4. Enter Recipient: Type the exact character name of You you wish to send mail to in the "Recipient" field. Be careful with spelling, as mail sent to an incorrect name will be lost.
  5. Attach Items/Gold:
    • Items: Drag and drop items from your inventory into the attachment slots at the bottom of the mail window. You can attach multiple items.
    • Gold: Enter the amount of gold you wish to send in the "Gold" field.
  6. Write a Message (Optional): Type your message in the text box provided.
  7. Review and Send: Double-check the recipient, attached items, and gold. Sending mail incurs a small fee, typically a few copper, which will be deducted from your inventory. Click "Send" to finalize.

Important Note: Sent mail can take a few minutes to arrive, especially if the recipient is offline. There's also a limit to the number of items and the amount of gold you can send in a single mail.

Receiving Mail

When you have new mail, a small envelope icon will appear near your minimap. You can click this icon or press P to open your mailbox.

  • System Mail: These are often rewards from quests, events, or items purchased from the Hongmoon Store. They typically have a "Claim" button.
  • Player Mail: Mail from other players will display their character name. Click on the mail to open it and view the message and attachments.
  • Auction House Mail: When an item you listed on the Auction House sells, or if an item you bid on is returned, you'll receive mail containing the gold or the item.
  • Claiming Attachments: To retrieve attached items or gold, click the "Claim All" button or individually drag items to your inventory. Ensure you have sufficient inventory space before claiming.

Mail Expiration: Most mail, especially system and Auction House mail, has an expiration timer. claim your items before they expire, or they will be lost!

Personal Storage (Bank)

Your Personal Storage, often referred to as your "Bank," is an invaluable resource for managing your inventory. It provides additional space to store items you don't immediately need, crafting materials, or items for alternate characters.

Accessing Your Storage

  • Storage Keepers: To access your personal storage, you must visit a Storage Keeper NPC. These NPCs are found in all major cities and towns, often located near the Mail Carrier or Auction House. Look for an NPC with a chest icon above their head.

Storage Management

  1. Interact with Storage Keeper: Click on the Storage Keeper NPC to open your storage interface.
  2. Deposit Items: Drag and drop items from your inventory into the storage slots.
  3. Withdraw Items: Drag and drop items from your storage back into your inventory.
  4. Organize: You can manually arrange items within your storage or use the "Sort" button to automatically organize them.

Expanding Storage Slots

Initially, your storage will have a limited number of slots. You can expand your storage capacity through several methods:

  • Gold: The most common method is to pay gold to unlock additional rows of storage slots. The cost increases with each expansion. You'll see a "Expand Storage" button within the storage interface.
  • Hongmoon Coin: You can also purchase Storage Expansion items from the Hongmoon Store using Hongmoon Coin. These items often grant more slots per purchase than gold expansions.
  • Premium Membership: Premium members often receive additional storage slots as a perk, which are active as long as your premium status is maintained.

Cross-Character Storage: Your personal storage is character-bound. Items stored in one character's bank cannot be accessed by another character on the same account. For transferring items between your own characters, you'll need to use the Mail System.
