Grouping & Party Finder
Blade & Soul is a game that truly shines when played with others. From challenging dungeons to open-world bosses, forming a party is often essential for success and maximizing your rewards. This section will guide you through the various methods of grouping and using the Party Finder system.
Forming a Party Manually
There are several ways to invite players to your party directly:
- Target and Invite: The most straightforward method.
- Locate You you wish to invite in the game world.
- Left-click on their character to target them.
- Right-click on their character portrait (usually located in the top-left corner of your screen).
- Select "Invite to Party" from the dropdown menu.
- Chat Window Invite: Useful for inviting players who are not directly in your line of sight.
- Open your chat window (default key: Enter).
- Type
/invite [player name](e.g.,/invite Jinsoyun) and press Enter.
- Friend List Invite: For quick grouping with your established contacts.
- Open your Friend List (default key: F4).
- Locate the friend you wish to invite.
- Right-click on their name.
- Select "Invite to Party."
Once a party is formed, the party leader (indicated by a crown icon next to their name) can set the party loot distribution rules. Common options include "Free For All," "Round Robin," and "Leader's Discretion." It's good practice to discuss loot rules before engaging in content, especially for rare drops like the Blackwyrm Soul Shield Fragment or Legendary Soul Badges.
using the Cross-Server Dungeon (F8) System
The Cross-Server Dungeon (often referred to as "F8" due to its default hotkey) is your primary tool for finding groups for instanced content, including dungeons, raids, and certain daily challenges. This system connects players across all servers within your region, significantly reducing wait times.
Accessing F8
- Press the F8 key on your keyboard, or click the "Cross-Server Dungeon" icon on the bottom-right of your UI (it looks like a portal with two arrows).
- This will open the Cross-Server Dungeon lobby.
Joining an Existing Party
- In the F8 lobby, navigate to the "Dungeons" or "Raids" tab, depending on the content you wish to run.
- Browse the list of available parties. Each listing will show:
- The dungeon/raid name (e.g., Naryu Foundry, Skybreak Spire).
- The number of players currently in the party (e.g., 3/6).
- The party leader's minimum gear requirements or specific class requests (e.g., "AP 1300+", "Need Tank/Healer").
- Any specific notes from the party leader.
- Select a party that matches your desired content and meets your character's capabilities.
- Click the "Apply" button. The party leader will then review your application.
- Once accepted, you will receive a notification. Click "Accept" to join the party.
Pro-Tip: Always ensure your gear (Attack Power, Critical Rate, Accuracy) is appropriate for the content. Applying to parties far above your current capabilities will likely result in rejection and wasted time.
Creating Your Own Party
- In the F8 lobby, click the "Create Party" button.
- A new window will appear where you can customize your party listing:
- Select Dungeon/Raid: Choose the specific instance you want to run from the dropdown menu (e.g., Mao's Palace, Temple of Eluvium).
- Minimum Attack Power (AP): Set a recommended AP for applicants. This helps filter out undergeared players.
- Required Classes: Specify if you need a particular class (e.g., "Blade Dancer Tank," "Soul Fighter Healer").
- Party Title/Notes: Add a descriptive title or important information (e.g., "Fresh Run," "Farm Run," "Know Mechs," "LF 2 DPS").
- Click "Create" to list your party.
- Players will begin applying to your party. You will see their applications in the "Applicants" tab.
- Review each applicant's gear and class, then click "Accept" or "Reject."
- Once your party is full, click the "Enter Dungeon" button to teleport your entire party to the instance.
Important Considerations: When creating a party, be clear and concise with your requirements. For challenging content like Throne of the Immortals or Grand Harvest Square, specifying "Know Mechs" can save a lot of frustration.
Clan and Guild Grouping
Joining an active Clan (Blade & Soul's guild system) is an excellent way to ensure a consistent group for content. Clans often organize runs for daily challenges, weekly raids, and even help newer members gear up.
- Clan Chat: Use the dedicated Clan chat channel (default:
/c) to ask for party members. - Clan Events: Many Clans schedule regular dungeon and raid runs, often posted in their Discord servers or in-game announcements.
- Benefits: Grouping with Clan members often leads to smoother runs due to better communication and familiarity with each other's playstyles.
Whether you're tackling the Ebony Mines for daily quests or pushing progression in Twilight Canyon, effective grouping is key to maximizing your enjoyment and rewards in Blade & Soul.
