Caleb is the protagonist of Blood, a former member of the Cabal who was betrayed and murdered by Tchernobog. Resurrected from his grave, he embarks on a bloody quest for vengeance. Caleb is a silent protagonist in terms of dialogue choices, but his personality shines through his iconic one-liners and maniacal laughter.

Caleb's Inherent Abilities:
- High Durability: Caleb can withstand a significant amount of damage, especially with armor. His base health is 100, but can be temporarily boosted to 200 with certain items.
- Fast Movement: Caleb is a quick and agile character, capable of fast strafing and running. Mastering his movement is key to dodging projectiles and flanking enemies.
- Quick Kick (Q): A basic melee attack that deals low damage but is useful for conserving ammo against weak enemies (Rats, Hands, weak Zombies) or pushing enemies back to create space. It's also surprisingly effective for opening some cracked walls.
- Environmental Interaction: Caleb can interact with doors, switches, and pick up items using the 'Use' key (E/Spacebar).
- Weapon Mastery: Caleb can wield a wide array of conventional and supernatural weapons, each with a primary and secondary fire mode. His proficiency with all weapons is immediate upon pickup.
- Inventory System: Caleb can carry a limited number of inventory items (e.g., Flashlight, Diving Suit, Jump Boots, Cloak of Invisibility). These are activated with a dedicated key or automatically when needed.
Caleb's Limitations:
- No Regenerating Health: Health must be restored by picking up Life Essences or Doctor's Bags.
- Finite Ammo: Ammunition is a precious resource and must be conserved.
- Vulnerability to Environmental Hazards: Caleb is susceptible to fall damage, crushing traps, lava, and deep water (without a Diving Suit).
Playing as Caleb:
Caleb's gameplay style is aggressive and fast-paced. You are encouraged to constantly move, strafe, and utilize the environment to your advantage. Don't stand still, as enemies are numerous and often have projectile attacks. Mastering each weapon's primary and secondary fire is crucial for adapting to different combat scenarios. While Caleb is tough, he's not invincible, so strategic use of health, armor, and inventory items is paramount for survival.
