Health Pickups:

  1. Life Essence: Small, glowing red orbs. Restores a small amount of health (typically 10-25 HP). Very common.
  2. Doctor's Bag: A larger medical bag. Restores a significant amount of health (typically 50 HP). Moderately common.
  3. Life Leech (Secondary Fire): While a weapon, its secondary fire drains life from enemies and transfers it to Caleb, effectively healing him. This is a crucial self-healing mechanic.
  4. Voodoo Doll (Secondary Fire): Damages Caleb but restores a large amount of his health. Use with extreme caution, as it can kill you if your health is too low. Best used when you have low health but plenty of armor, or when you know a health pickup is immediately available.

Armor Pickups:

  1. Armor Shard: Small, blue shards. Restores a small amount of armor (typically 10-25 AP). Common.
  2. Leather Armor: A full set of leather armor. Restores a moderate amount of armor (typically 50 AP). Moderately common.
  3. Chain Armor: A full set of chainmail armor. Restores a significant amount of armor (typically 100 AP). Less common.
  4. Fire Armor: A full set of fire-resistant armor. Restores a large amount of armor (typically 150 AP) and provides temporary resistance to fire damage. Rare and very valuable.

Health & Armor Management Tips:

  • Prioritize Armor: Armor absorbs a percentage of incoming damage before it affects your health. Always prioritize picking up armor, especially before entering known combat zones.
  • Don't Waste Health: If you're at full health, try to avoid picking up health items unless you know you'll take damage immediately after, or if you're saving it for a specific purpose (e.g., using Voodoo Doll secondary fire).
  • Overcharge Health: Some health items can temporarily boost your health above 100 (up to 200). This 'overcharge' slowly depletes but provides a significant buffer.
  • Seek Secrets: Secrets are often the best source of large health and armor pickups.
  • Life Leech for Sustained Combat: The Life Leech is invaluable for healing during prolonged engagements, especially its secondary fire for groups.
  • Voodoo Doll for Emergencies: Only use the Voodoo Doll's secondary fire as a last resort or when you have a clear understanding of its risks and rewards.

Effective management of health and armor is the difference between survival and becoming another bloody stain on the ground. Always be aware of your current stats and plan your pickups strategically.
