Weapon Combinations & Synergies
Bloodborne's Trick Weapons are desed for versatility, allowing for dynamic combat through their transformed states. Combining different weapon types, or even using the same weapon in various ways, can create powerful synergies that devastate enemies and bosses alike.
The core of weapon synergy lies in understanding the strengths and weaknesses of each weapon's two forms. For instance, a weapon like the Saw Cleaver offers a fast, serrated form ideal for quickly dispatching beasts, while its longer, transformed state provides greater reach for crowd control. Combining these forms with strategic dodges and parries can create devastating combos.
Effective Combinations:
- Fast Melee + Ranged Parry: A Skill-based weapon for quick attacks, paired with a firearm for parrying. This allows you to maintain pressure while having a reliable way to create openings for visceral attacks.
- Heavy Hitter + Elemental Damage: A Strength-based weapon for high damage, augmented with elemental damage from Blood Gems or consumables like Bolt Paper. This is effective against enemies with specific elemental weaknesses.
- Crowd Control + Single Target Burst: Using a weapon with wide sweeps (like the Threaded Cane's transformed state) to manage groups, then switching to a weapon or tool that deals high single-target damage (like a charged R2 attack or a Hunter Tool) for tougher foes.
- Weapon Transformation Combos: Many weapons have unique synergies within their own movesets. For example, initiating an attack in one form and immediately transforming to continue the combo can extend reach and damage.
Synergistic Hunter Tools:
Don't forget your Hunter Tools! They can complement your weapon choices sificantly:
- Executioner's Gloves: Excellent for staggering enemies, setting up for weapon combos.
- Fire Paper/Bolt Paper: Applied to weapons to add elemental damage, synergizing with builds that exploit enemy weaknesses.
- Molotov Cocktails: Useful for applying damage over time or finishing off weakened enemies from a distance.
Experimentation is key. Try different weapon pairings and observe how they interact with enemy types and boss mechanics. A well-thought-out weapon combination can turn a difficult encounter into a manageable challenge.
