Lecture Building
The Lecture Building is an optional, surreal area accessible after acquiring the Tonsil Stone and being abducted by a Lesser Amygdala. This bizarre locale is a stark departure from the Gothic architecture of Yharnam, presenting a sterile, academic environment filled with unsettling experiments and the remnants of arcane research. It serves as a gateway to further optional areas and holds valuable items for those brave enough to explore its depths.
To reach the Lecture Building, players must first obtain the Tonsil Stone. This item can be acquired from certain NPCs who offer blood. Once in possession of the stone, players need to venture to the dead end to the right of the Grand Cathedral, facing it from the outside. Here, an invisible Lesser Amygdala will abduct them, transporting them directly to the Lecture Building. Alternatively, You can gain access to this area immediately after defeating Rom, the Vacuous Spider.
Upon entering the Lecture Building, players will find themselves in a long, winding corridor filled with peculiar experiments and hostile students. The environment itself is a puzzle, with many paths and secrets to uncover. Among the notable items to be found are various Caryll Runes, which offer passive buffs and customization options for the Hunter. The Augur of Ebrietas, a powerful Hunter Tool that summons cosmic tendrils, can also be acquired here, offering a potent offensive option.
The Lecture Building also contains Red Jelly, a consumable item that is crucial for certain questlines and for the crafting of specific items. The area is not without its dangers, with unique enemies that require specific strategies to overcome. The sterile, clinical atmosphere is punctuated by the unsettling sounds and visual distortions that hint at the forbidden knowledge being pursued within its walls.
Beyond the Lecture Building lies the Nightmare Frontier, another optional area that can be accessed through large doors at the end of the hall. While the Nightmare Frontier can be challenging, it offers further opportunities for exploration and the acquisition of valuable items, including the Ailing Loran Chalice after defeating the Amygdala boss. The Lecture Building, therefore, acts as a crucial junction for those seeking to delve deeper into Bloodborne's optional content and uncover its more esoteric secrets.
