Environmental Hazards & Traps
The world of Bloodborne is not only populated by monstrous foes but also by a myriad of environmental hazards and cunning traps desed to impede your progress and drain your precious Blood Echoes. Vigilance and careful observation are your greatest allies in overcoming these dangers.
Throughout Yharnam and its surrounding areas, you'll encounter various environmental threats. These can range from simple pitfalls and hazardous drops to more insidious dangers like poison swamps, areas that inflict Frenzy, and explosive barrels. Understanding the tells of these hazards and knowing how to avoid them is crucial for survival.
Traps are often cleverly disguised. Enemies might hide behind objects, waiting to ambush you, or trigger mechanisms that unleash devastating effects. For instance, some areas might have explosive barrels that can be detonated by enemy fire or by your own attacks, creating a chain reaction that can harm you as well as your foes.
Common Hazards and Traps:
| Hazard/Trap | Description | Countermeasures |

| Pitfalls/Drops | Unseen edges or sudden drops in the terrain. | Cautious movement, use of the environment for cover, careful camera control. |
| Poison Areas | Swamps or pools that inflict Poison status. | Antidotes, Blood Vials, or avoiding the area entirely. |
| Frenzy Zones | Areas or enemies that rapidly build up Frenzy. | Sedatives, breaking line of sight, quick healing. |
