Blood Echoes and Insight are the two primary currencies in Bloodborne, essential for progression and character development. Blood Echoes are used to level up your Hunter's stats, purchase items, and upgrade weapons at the Hunter's Dream. Insight, on the other hand, influences the game world in subtle yet sificant ways, affecting enemy difficulty, revealing hidden elements, and enabling certain interactions. Blood Echoes are primarily obtained by defeating enemies. The amount of Echoes dropped varies depending on the enemy's type and difficulty. Bosses yield the largest amounts. If you die, you drop all your collected Blood Echoes at the spot of your demise. You have one chance to retrieve them; if you die again before reaching them, they are lost forever. Insight can be gained by discovering new areas, encountering bosses for the first time, using specific consumable items (like 'Madman's Knowledge'), or by having other players summon you for co-op.
