New Game Plus (NG+)

New Game Plus (NG+) in Bloodborne automatically begins after defeating the final boss, without a prior warning. This transition can be unexpected for players. If a player dies at the Moon Presence, they can continue in the open world and access Gehrman to purchase his items from the messengers before NG+ officially starts. This provides a window to prepare for the next playthrough, though some sources might suggest otherwise regarding the ultimate save point.

The "The Old Hunters" DLC content can be accessed in NG+ if the player progresses to a certain point and acquires the Eye of a Blood-drunk Hunter. For players who purchase the DLC after starting a game, they will be able to play the DLC content without needing to start a new game, provided they meet the in-game requirements. The physical GOTY bundle includes the DLC on-disc, eliminating the need for a download.

  • Automatic Start: NG+ begins automatically after the final boss.
  • Moon Presence Death: Dying at the Moon Presence allows continued play in the open world and access to Gehrman's items before NG+.
  • DLC Access:
    • Accessible in NG+ after acquiring the Eye of a Blood-drunk Hunter.
    • Players can buy the DLC at any point in their playthrough and access it without starting a new game.
    • The physical GOTY bundle includes the DLC on-disc.
  • Patch 1.07: Added The League covenant and friendly Old Hunters NPC summons.
