Amygdala

Amygdala refers to large, multi-limbed creatures found in various locations, including the Nightmare Frontier and as Lesser Amygdala. Defeating the Amygdala in the Nightmare Frontier yields the Ailing Loran Chalice. Lesser Amygdala can also transport players to other areas, such as the Lecture Building 1st Floor or The Hunter’s Nightmare, under specific conditions.

In the Nightmare Frontier, an optional area accessed from the Lecture Building, defeating Amygdala grants the Ailing Loran Chalice. The Nightmare Frontier is difficult and returning later is suggested. Beware of poison water in this area.

Lesser Amygdala also plays a role in accessing other areas:

  • To reach the Lecture Building 1st Floor, have the Tonsil Stone and get picked up by the invisible Lesser Amygdala at the dead end to the right of the Grand Cathedral. This area is immediately accessible after defeating Rom, the Vacuous Spider.
  • To reach The Hunter’s Nightmare, obtain the Eye of a Blood-Drunk Hunter from a messenger. Return to Cathedral Ward, take the left exit to the square, and head to the far right. Let the Lesser Amygdala grab you to transport you. Lighting the lamp in The Hunter's Nightmare allows fast travel via the Awakening Headstone in the Hunter’s Dream.
