Arianna
Arianna, the Blood-Smeared Woman, is a sificant NPC in Bloodborne whose questline offers crucial items and contributes to one of the game's potential endings. Encountering her early in the game provides a source of Blood Vials, but her true importance unfolds as You guides her to safety and observes the consequences of her unique condition. Her story is deeply tied to the game's themes of blood, transformation, and the influence of the Great Ones.
Arianna can first be found in a small alleyway in the Aqueduct area, just before the entrance to the Tomb of Oedon. When approached, she will ask for a safe place. Players have the option to direct her to either Iosefka's Clinic or the Oedon Chapel. Directing her to the Oedon Chapel is the recommended path for progressing her questline and obtaining key items. She will eventually begin to offer Blood Vials to the player.
As the game progresses and more bosses are defeated, Arianna's condition will change. She will begin to bleed more profusely, offering You a special item known as the Bloodtinge Blood. If You continues to progress and has also acquired other key items, Arianna's room in the Oedon Chapel will eventually be found in a state of disarray, hinting at a dark fate. Her ultimate fate is tied to the acquisition of one of the game's most important consumables, the One Third of Umbilical Cord, and can lead to a unique encounter.
