The Blood Rock is the rarest and most powerful weapon upgrade material in Bloodborne, used to fully enhance a weapon to its maximum potential. Acquiring and using a Blood Rock is a sificant step towards achieving peak combat effectiveness and is crucial for tackling the game's most challenging content.

Blood Rocks are exceptionally scarce and are primarily found in very specific, often late-game or optional, locations. One guaranteed Blood Rock can be found in the Nightmare of Mensis, obtained by pulling a lever that drops the Brain of Mensis. Another can be found in the Fishing Hamlet within The Old Hunters DLC, often obtained through specific quest completions or as a rare drop. Additionally, Blood Rocks can occasionally be found as rare drops within the deepest and most challenging Root Chalice Dungeons, such as the Great Isz Chalice or the Great Pthumeru Ihyll Chalice.

Due to their rarity, it is essential to use Blood Rocks wisely.
