Lamps
Lamps are the beacons of hope in the grim world of Bloodborne, serving as vital checkpoints and the primary means of returning to the safety of the Hunter's Dream. Interacting with a lamp not only allows you to rest and manage your character but also unlocks fast travel to that location from the Dream.
When you first discover a lamp, it will be inactive. Approaching and interacting with it will activate it, sifying your progress. Once activated, you can return to this lamp from the Hunter's Dream, allowing for quick travel back to that area. This is essential for farming, revisiting areas for missed items, or simply to escape a dangerous situation.
Resting at a lamp will replenish your Blood Vials and Quicksilver Bullets from your storage, and will respawn all non-boss enemies in the area. It is also where you will return upon death, unless you have a Bold Hunter's Mark or similar item to return to the Hunter's Dream manually.
Key Functions of Lamps:
- Checkpoint: Act as respawn points upon death.
- Resting: Replenishes Blood Vials and Quicksilver Bullets from storage.
- Enemy Respawn: All non-boss enemies respawn when you rest at a lamp.
- Fast Travel Hub: Once activated, allows travel to and from the Hunter's Dream.
The number and placement of lamps are strategically desed to provide respite without making the world feel too easy. Learning the locations of these lamps and how to utilize them effectively is a core survival skill for any hunter.
