The Pthumeru Chalice is the first of the main Chalice Dungeons, serving as an introduction to this challenging optional content in Bloodborne. Completing it is essential for unlocking subsequent Chalice Dungeons and accessing deeper layers of the game's secrets and rewards.

The Pthumeru Chalice can be obtained after defeating the Blood-Starved Beast in Old Yharnam. Upon defeating this boss, you will receive the Pthumeru Chalice. To use it, you must return to the Hunter's Dream and interact with the altar where Chalice Dungeons are performed. The Pthumeru Chalice will be available to initiate. The dungeon itself consists of three layers, each with its own layout, enemies, and a boss at the end. The bosses include the Great Pthumeru Ihyll, the Watchers, and the Pthumeru Queen.

Successfully completing the Pthumeru Chalice not only provides valuable Blood Echoes and items but also unlocks the Central Pthumeru Chalice, allowing you to delve even deeper into the labyrinthine Chalice Dungeons. These dungeons offer unique challenges, powerful Blood Gems, and lore that expands upon the world of Bloodborne.
