The Great Bridge & Cleric Beast

The Great Bridge in Central Yharnam leads to your first major boss encounter, the Cleric Beast. Defeating this formidable foe is a crucial step in your journey, granting you valuable Insight and unlocking new items for purchase. The Cleric Beast is one of two bosses that must be defeated to access closed areas of Cathedral Ward.

To progress:

  1. Defeat the Cleric Beast.

Upon defeating the Cleric Beast:

  • You gain 1 Insight, enabling the purchase of a Small Resonant Bell from the upper Messenger's shop.
  • The Kirkhammer and Repeating Pistol become available for purchase in the shop.
  • Killing the Cleric Beast provides access to the Hunter Chief's Emblem, which opens a gate. Alternatively, you can open a door inside the Chapel by defeating the Blood Starved Beast to access the back way to open the gates.
