Progression & Milestones

Welcome, Sensei! Navigating the vast world of Blue Archive and optimizing your student's growth can feel overwhelming. This detailed guide will walk you through essential progression steps and key milestones to ensure your academy thrives and your students become formidable forces on the battlefield.

Early Game (Sensei Level 1-30): Laying the Foundation

Your initial focus should be on building a strong core team and understanding the game's fundamental mechanics. Efficiency is key here to unlock crucial content quickly.

  • Main Story Progression: Prioritize clearing the Main Story stages. Each cleared stage grants valuable Sensei EXP, allowing you to increase your Sensei Level and unlock new features. Aim to clear up to Chapter 4-5 as quickly as possible to unlock the Tactical Challenge (PvP).
  • Student Acquisition:
    • Recruitment: Use your initial Pyroxene for the Starter Recruitment banner if available, as it often guarantees a 3-star student. Otherwise, save for rate-up banners featuring strong meta units.
    • Hard Stages: Once unlocked (typically after clearing specific Main Story stages), farm Hard Stages for Student Elephs. Focus on students you own and wish to promote, or those you are close to unlocking. Early targets often include students like Serika (Hard 1-3) or Tsubaki (Hard 3-3).
  • Student Leveling & Skills:
    • Lessons: use the Lesson feature in the Cafe to gain EXP. Prioritize students in your main combat teams.
    • Skill Upgrades: Focus on upgrading the EX Skill of your main damage dealers and the Sub Skill of your tanks/healers. Early skill materials like Tactical Training Blu-ray (Tier 1) and Technical Note (Tier 1) can be obtained from Bounty stages.
  • Equipment:
    • Normal Stages: Farm Normal Stages for Tier 1 and Tier 2 equipment. Equip all students in your main teams. Even low-tier equipment provides significant stat boosts.
    • Crafting: Don't neglect the Crafting Chamber. Use excess equipment materials to craft higher-tier equipment or specific pieces you need.
  • Cafe Management: Upgrade your Cafe as soon as resources allow. Higher Cafe ranks increase your AP generation and Credit income, which are vital for sustained progression. Prioritize upgrading the Comfort Objects that boost AP and Credits.

Mid Game (Sensei Level 31-60): Optimization & Specialization

As you progress, your focus shifts to refining your teams, tackling more challenging content, and preparing for endgame activities.

  • Total Assault (Raid): This becomes a major source of rewards.
    • Team Building: Begin building specialized teams for different Total Assault bosses (e.g., Mystic, Explosive, Piercing). Focus on students with type advantage and strong EX Skills.
    • Participation: Even if you can't clear higher difficulties, participate to earn Total Assault Coins for valuable items in the shop, including rare Elephs and skill materials.
  • Tactical Challenge (PvP):
    • Daily Rewards: Aim to maintain a respectable rank for daily Pyroxene income.
    • Team Composition: Experiment with different student combinations. Students like Tsubaki, Haruna, and Iori are often strong contenders in PvP.
  • Advanced Skill Upgrades:
    • Bounty: Farm higher-tier Bounty stages for Tactical Training Blu-ray (Tier 2/3) and Technical Note (Tier 2/3).
    • School Exchange: use the School Exchange shop to purchase specific skill materials you're lacking, especially for your priority students.
  • Equipment Tiering:
    • Normal Stages: Continue farming Normal Stages for Tier 3 and Tier 4 equipment.
    • Equipment Workshop: Focus on upgrading your main team's equipment to Tier 4 and beyond. Prioritize the equipment slots that provide the most impactful stats for each student (e.g., Watch for Attackers, Hairpin for Tanks).
  • Joint Firing Range: Unlock and consistently clear Joint Firing Range stages to acquire Tactical Training Blu-ray (Tier 4+) and Technical Note (Tier 4+), which are crucial for maxing out student skills.

Late Game (Sensei Level 61-Max): Refinement & Endgame Content

At this stage, you're fine-tuning your roster, pushing for higher ranks in competitive modes, and preparing for future content.

  • Maxing Student Potential:
    • Unique Weapons: Prioritize acquiring and upgrading Unique Weapons for your core students. These provide significant stat boosts and often enhance their EX Skills. Elephs for Unique Weapons are primarily obtained from Hard Stages (after unlocking the student's 5-star rarity) and Total Assault Shop.
    • Relationship Ranks: Increase student Relationship Ranks through gifts in the Cafe and interacting with them in the Schedule. Higher ranks unlock new stories and provide bonus stats.
  • Extreme Total Assault: Challenge the highest difficulties of Total Assault for top-tier rewards and bragging rights. This requires highly optimized teams, maxed-out skills, and often specific student compositions.
  • Event Participation: Actively participate in all limited-time events. These are excellent sources of Pyroxene, unique student Elephs, event-exclusive equipment, and valuable crafting materials. Always aim to clear the event shop.
  • Perorozilla/Kaiten FX Mk.0/Goz: Prepare for and engage with these challenging raid bosses when they appear. Each requires unique strategies and team compositions.
  • Strategic Resource Management: At this point, you'll have a better understanding of your needs. Be strategic with your AP, Credits, and Pyroxene. Prioritize resources for students you are actively using and those that will benefit your competitive performance.
