Understanding Skill Types and Materials
Each student in Blue Archive possesses four distinct skills:
- EX Skill: The student's ultimate ability, often with a high impact on the battlefield.
- Normal Skill: A skill that activates periodically during combat.
- Passive Skill: A skill that provides a continuous buff or effect.
- Sub Skill: An additional skill that activates under specific conditions or provides a secondary effect.
Each of these skills requires specific types of Curriculum Vitae and Skill Books to level up. These materials are categorized by the student's school affiliation and by the skill type itself.
Acquiring Curriculum Vitae (CV)
Curriculum Vitae are the primary materials needed for leveling up Normal, Passive, and Sub Skills. They come in different tiers (e.g., Basic, Advanced, Superior) and are specific to a student's school.
Recommended Farming Locations:
- Commissions: This is your bread and butter for CV farming. Navigate to the "Lessons" section from the main menu, then select "Commissions."
- School-Specific Commissions: Each day, different school commissions are available. Prioritize farming the commissions corresponding to the schools of your most-used students. For example:
- Abydos High School: Farm on specific days for Abydos CV.
- Gehenna Academy: Farm on specific days for Gehenna CV.
- Millennium Science School: Farm on specific days for Millennium CV.
- Trinity General School: Farm on specific days for Trinity CV.

Farming Strategy:
Focus your daily Commission runs on the schools of your core team members. As you progress, you'll need higher-tier CV, so don't neglect the harder difficulty stages in Commissions. Auto-clearing these stages after a 3-star clear is highly recommended to save time.
Acquiring Skill Books
Skill Books are exclusively used for leveling up a student's powerful EX Skill. Like CV, they come in different tiers (e.g., Basic, Advanced, Superior) and are specific to a student's school.
Recommended Farming Locations:
- Bounty: This is the primary source for Skill Books. Access "Bounty" from the main menu under "Lessons."
- School-Specific Bounties: Similar to Commissions, Bounty stages are school-specific and rotate daily. Target the bounties that drop Skill Books for your priority students. For example:
- Abydos High School Bounty: Drops Abydos Skill Books.
- Gehenna Academy Bounty: Drops Gehenna Skill Books.
- Millennium Science School Bounty: Drops Millennium Skill Books.
- Trinity General School Bounty: Drops Trinity Skill Books.

EX Skills are often the most impactful abilities, so investing in their levels is crucial. Prioritize farming Bounty stages for the Skill Books of your main damage dealers and key support students. Don't be afraid to use your daily attempts and even refresh them with Pyroxene if you're close to a significant EX Skill breakpoint for a crucial student.
Prioritization and General Tips
- Identify Your Core Team: Focus your material farming on the students you use most frequently in challenging content like Raids, Tactical Challenge, and harder story stages.
- EX Skill First: Generally, leveling EX Skills provides the most significant power spike. Aim to get critical EX Skills to level 3 or 5 early on.
- Normal/Passive/Sub Skills: After EX Skills, prioritize Normal Skills for consistent damage or utility, then Passive Skills for stat boosts, and finally Sub Skills for situational effects.
