Side Quests & Optional Content
While the main story of Blue Archive offers a compelling narrative, the world of Kivotos is rich with additional activities, challenges, and stories waiting to be discovered. Engaging with side quests and optional content not only provides valuable resources and character development materials but also deepens your understanding of the students and their daily lives.
Student Bond Stories
Bond Stories are character-specific narratives that unlock as you increase a student's Bond Level. These stories offer intimate glimpses into their personalities, struggles, and aspirations. Completing them is crucial for maximizing a student's potential and enjoying the full breadth of Blue Archive's storytelling.
- Unlocking Conditions: Each Bond Story typically requires a specific Bond Level with the student. Some stories may also have prerequisites, such as completing certain main story chapters or other Bond Stories.
- Rewards:
- Pyroxene: A significant source of Pyroxene, essential for recruiting new students.
- Bond Experience: Further increases the student's Bond Level, leading to more stat bonuses.
- Lore & Character Development: Deepens your connection to the students and enriches the game's narrative.
- Strategy: Prioritize raising Bond Levels for your favorite or most powerful students. Utilize gifts from the Cafe and participate in activities that grant Bond experience.
Commissions
Commissions are repeatable missions that provide a steady stream of essential resources. They are categorized by the type of reward they offer, making it easy to target specific needs.
Bounty Missions
These missions focus on eliminating specific threats or collecting certain items within a time limit. They are excellent for farming materials needed for character skill upgrades.
- Locations: Accessible from the "Commissions" tab in the main menu. Specific locations vary by mission.
- Rewards:
- Skill Materials: Such as "Advanced Tactical Training Blu-ray," "Technical Notes," and various "Activity Reports."
- Credits: The primary in-game currency.
- Strategy:
- Check Daily Needs: Identify which students require skill upgrades and what materials they need.
- Form a Balanced Team: Bring students with strong Area-of-Effect (AoE) skills for clearing waves of enemies quickly. Consider students with high damage output against the mission's specific enemy types.
- Utilize Auto-Clear: Once you've achieved a 3-star clear on a Bounty Mission, you can use "Auto-Clear" tickets to instantly claim rewards without replaying the stage, saving valuable time.
Base Defense
Base Defense missions challenge you to protect a fixed point from waves of incoming enemies. These are crucial for acquiring "Eligma" and "Artifacts" for equipment upgrades.
- Locations: Also found under the "Commissions" tab.
- Rewards:
- Eligma: Used to purchase character shards in the Eligma Shop.
- Equipment Materials: Various "Artifacts" and "Component Parts" for upgrading student equipment.
- Strategy:
- Defensive Formations: Position your students strategically to cover all entry points. Tanks should be at the front, followed by damage dealers and healers.
- Crowd Control: Students with crowd control (CC) skills (e.g., stun, bind) are highly effective at slowing down enemy advances.
- Prioritize Threat: Focus fire on high-damage enemies or those that bypass your frontline quickly.
- Auto-Clear: Similar to Bounty Missions, 3-star clears enable Auto-Clear for convenience.
Total Assault
Total Assault is a challenging raid-style event where you face off against powerful boss enemies. It's a primary source of "Total Assault Coins" and valuable crafting materials.
- Availability: Total Assault runs for a limited time each week, with different bosses rotating.
- Rewards:
- Total Assault Coins: Exchangeable in the Total Assault Shop for rare items, including character shards, skill materials, and equipment.
- Ranking Rewards: Based on your cumulative damage dealt, offering additional Pyroxene and other resources.
- Strategy:
- Team Composition: Tailor your team to the boss's specific weaknesses (e.g., armor type, elemental resistance). Utilize students with strong single-target damage and appropriate support.
- Multiple Teams: You'll often need to deploy multiple teams to maximize damage against higher difficulty bosses. Plan your teams carefully to ensure each one contributes effectively.
- Buffs & Debuffs: Students who can apply buffs to allies (e.g., ATK Up) or debuffs to the boss (e.g., DEF Down) are invaluable.
- Practice Runs: Don't be afraid to experiment with different team compositions and skill rotations to find the most optimal strategy for each boss.
Cafe Management
Your Cafe serves as a hub for your students and a source of passive income and Bond experience.
- Furniture: Purchase and place furniture to increase the "Comfort" level of your Cafe. Higher Comfort levels increase the rate at which "Credits" and "AP" (Action Points) are generated.
- Gifts: Students visiting the Cafe can be given gifts to significantly boost their Bond Level. Pay attention to their preferences for maximum effect.
- Interactions: Occasionally, students will have special interactions in the Cafe, offering small stories and additional Bond experience.
- Strategy:
- Prioritize Comfort: Invest in high-Comfort furniture as early as possible to maximize passive resource generation.
- Targeted Gifting: Save your rare gifts for students you want to quickly raise Bond Levels for, especially those with powerful EX skills or upcoming Bond Stories.
- Daily Check-ins: Make it a habit to collect resources and interact with students in the Cafe daily.
Club Activities
Joining a Club offers social benefits and additional daily rewards.
- Club Shop: Contribute to your Club to earn "Club Coins," which can be exchanged for various items in the Club Shop, including "Eligma" and "Skill Materials."
- Daily Check-in: Most Clubs offer a daily check-in bonus, providing small amounts of Pyroxene or other resources.
- Strategy:
- Find an Active Club: Join a Club with active members to ensure consistent Club Coin generation and access to better shop items.
- Contribute Regularly: Participate in Club activities and contribute resources to earn Club Coins.
