The Museum - Security Office Access

The Museum level presents a foundational puzzle early on: gaining access to the Security Office. This area is crucial for progressing and understanding the game's physics-based interaction mechanics.

Objective: Power Up the Security Office

Your primary goal is to restore power to the Security Office door, which is currently locked and unpowered. This involves a multi-step process of finding a power cell and correctly installing it.

  • Initial Observation: Upon entering the main museum exhibit hall, you'll notice the Security Office door on your left, clearly marked and displaying a "No Power" indicator. Attempting to interact with it will yield no results.
  • Locate the Power Cell:
    • Head towards the back of the exhibit hall, past the various displays.
    • Look for a dimly lit maintenance area or storage room, often partially obscured by crates or display cases.
    • Inside this area, you'll find a Power Cell resting on a shelf or workbench. It's a distinct, glowing cylindrical object.
    • Use your physics manipulation abilities to grab the Power Cell. Remember, precise hand movements are key here.
  • Find the Power Conduit:
    • Return to the Security Office door.
    • To the right of the door, you'll observe a recessed panel with a visible slot – this is the Power Conduit.
    • Carefully align the Power Cell with the slot in the Power Conduit. You'll feel a slight magnetic pull as you get close.
    • Push the Power Cell firmly into the conduit until you hear a distinct click and see the "No Power" indicator on the door change to a green "Powered" status.
  • Access the Security Office:
    • Once powered, the Security Office door will unlock.
    • Interact with the door handle to open it and proceed inside.

Inside the Security Office: Keycard Retrieval

Accessing the Security Office is only the first step. Your next mini-puzzle involves finding the necessary keycard to proceed further into the museum.

  • Scan the Environment: The Security Office is typically a small, cluttered room. Look for desks, shelves, and monitors.
  • Locate the Security Keycard:
    • The Security Keycard is almost always found on the main desk, often near a computer monitor or a stack of papers.
    • It's a flat, rectangular object, usually with a distinct color or symbol.
    • Grab the Keycard using your physics hands.
  • Proceed to the Next Area: With the Security Keycard in hand, you can now unlock the next set of doors or activate the next mechanism required for progression. Look for a keycard reader near the next locked door or access point.

Pro Tip: experiment with objects in the Security Office. Sometimes, there are hidden lore bits or even small ammo caches tucked away!

The Warehouse - Crane Operation

The Warehouse level introduces a more complex, multi-stage puzzle involving the manipulation of heavy machinery: the overhead crane. This puzzle tests your understanding of Boneworks' advanced physics and environmental interaction.

Objective: Clear the Path with the Crane

A large, heavy crate is blocking your path through the warehouse. You need to operate the overhead crane to move it out of the way.

Part 1: Restoring Power to the Crane

The crane, like many devices in Boneworks, will likely be unpowered initially.

  • Locate the Crane Control Booth:
    • The control booth is usually elevated, overlooking the main warehouse floor. Look for a small, enclosed structure with windows.
    • Accessing it might require climbing a ladder or navigating a catwalk.
  • Find the Power Breaker:
    • Inside the control booth, search for a Power Breaker Panel. It's typically a red or yellow box with a lever or a series of switches.
    • Flip the main lever or press the appropriate button to restore power to the crane. You should hear a distinct hum or see indicator lights illuminate on the control panel.

Part 2: Operating the Crane

Once powered, the crane controls will become active. This requires careful manipulation.

  • Identify the Crane Controls:
    • On the main console within the control booth, you'll find several levers and buttons.
    • Typically, there will be controls for:
      • Horizontal Movement (X-axis): Moves the crane trolley left and right along the main beam.
      • Vertical Movement (Y-axis): Moves the entire crane bridge forward and backward along the warehouse.
      • Hoist Up/Down: Raises and lowers the crane hook.
      • Magnet/Grab Toggle: Activates or deactivates the electromagnetic grabber.
  • Engage the Magnet/Grabber:
    • Before moving the crate, you need to activate the crane's grabbing mechanism. Locate the Magnet Toggle Button (often a large red button) and press it. You should see an indicator light or hear a magnetic hum.
  • Position the Crane Over the Crate:
    • Use the horizontal and vertical movement levers to carefully maneuver the crane hook directly above the large, blocking crate.
    • Precision is key here. Take your time to align the hook perfectly.
  • Lower the Hoist:
    • Once positioned, use the Hoist Down Lever to lower the crane hook until it makes contact with the crate.
    • The magnet should automatically engage, securely attaching the crate.
  • Raise the Crate:
    • Use the Hoist Up Lever to lift the crate clear of the floor.
  • Move the Crate to a Clear Area:
    • Now, use the horizontal and vertical movement levers to transport the suspended crate to an open, unblocked section of the warehouse floor.
    • Ensure it's completely out of the way of your intended path.
  • Lower and Release the Crate:
    • Once in the desired location, use the Hoist Down Lever to lower the crate to the floor.
    • Finally, press the Magnet Toggle Button again to release the crate.

Important Note: Boneworks' physics can be tricky. If the crate gets stuck or doesn't release properly, try gently nudging it with the crane or even using your own physical presence to dislodge it if safe to do so. Sometimes, a slight repositioning of the crane is all that's needed.
