Character-Specific Triumphs

Many achievements are tied to mastering individual Brotatos. Here’s how to conquer some of the toughest:

  • The One-Armed Wonder: Complete a Danger 5 run with the One-Armed character.
    • Strategy: Focus heavily on Melee Damage and Attack Speed. Since you can only equip one weapon, make it count! The Spiky Shield is an excellent early pick for its defensive capabilities and damage reflection. Prioritize items like Bandana for extra attack speed and Tentacle for life steal to sustain yourself. Consider a high-damage, single-target weapon like the Wrench or Shredder.
    • Key Items: Spiky Shield, Bandana, Tentacle, Wrench/Shredder.
  • Pacifist's Paradox: Complete a Danger 3 run without dealing any direct damage (damage from items/turrets is allowed).
    • Strategy: This achievement requires a completely different mindset. Your primary goal is survival and letting your items do the work. The Engineer or Turret characters are ideal here. Stack Turret Damage, Engineering, and Attack Speed for your turrets. Items like the Medical Turret (for healing) and Explosive Turret are crucial. Also, invest in movement speed and dodge to avoid enemies while your automated defenses do their job.
    • Key Items: Medical Turret, Explosive Turret, Wrench (for Engineering stat), Speed Boots.
  • Glass Cannon Grandmaster: Complete a Danger 4 run with the Glass Cannon character without taking any damage.
    • Strategy: This is arguably one of the hardest. The Glass Cannon has abysmal defense but high damage. You need to prioritize extreme damage output to clear waves before they reach you, coupled with unparalleled evasion. Max out Ranged Damage, Attack Speed, and Critical Chance. The SMG or Minigun are excellent weapon choices. For items, seek out Hunting Trophy for critical chance, Scope for more critical damage, and Alien Eyes for extra range. Movement speed items like Wings and Speed Boots are non-negotiable.

General Progression Achievements

  • Collector's Hoard: Unlock all unique items.
    • Strategy: This will naturally come with repeated play-throughs across different characters. However, to speed it up, try to vary your builds and character choices. Some items are more likely to appear with certain stats (e.g., Engineering items with Engineer). Don't be afraid to reroll the shop frequently, especially in later waves, to see a wider variety of items.
    • Tip: Keep a mental note or a physical checklist of items you've seen. The in-game encyclopedia can also help track your progress.
  • Danger Zone Dominator: Complete a run on Danger 5 with any character.
    • Strategy: This is the ultimate test of your Brotato skills. There's no single "best" strategy, as it depends on your chosen character and weapon. However, general principles apply:
      1. Early Game Survival: Focus on getting enough damage to clear early waves efficiently and invest in some early defense (HP, Armor, Dodge).
      2. Synergistic Builds: Don't just pick random items. Aim for strong synergies between your character, weapons, and items. For example, a character with high melee scaling benefits greatly from melee weapons and items that boost melee damage or attack speed.
      3. Resource Management: Spend your materials wisely. Don't overspend on rerolls early if you have good options. Save for crucial upgrades or legendary items.
      4. Adaptability: Be prepared to adapt your build based on what the shop offers. Sometimes, the game won't give you your ideal items, so you need a backup plan.
    • Recommended Characters for First Danger 5 Clear: The Soldier (for balanced stats and easy weapon access) or the Hunter (for strong ranged damage and critical potential) are often good starting points.

Hidden & Secret Trophies

Some achievements are less straightforward and require specific actions or conditions.

  • The Golden Potato: Find and equip the legendary Golden Potato item.
    • Location/Strategy: The Golden Potato is an extremely rare drop from elite enemies or boss waves on Danger 4 or 5. There's no guaranteed method to obtain it beyond playing on higher difficulties and defeating as many elites and bosses as possible. It has a very low drop rate, so persistence is key. It provides a significant boost to all stats, making it a game-changer if you find it.
    • Tip: Characters that excel at clearing waves quickly, like the Demon or Loud, might encounter more elites due to faster progression, slightly increasing your chances.
  • Unstoppable Force: Reach 500 Movement Speed in a single run.
    • Strategy: This requires a dedicated build focusing almost exclusively on movement speed. The Speedy character is the obvious choice. Stack every movement speed item you can find: Speed Boots, Wings, Jetpack, Adrenaline, and Pocket Factory (for its movement speed bonus). Prioritize upgrades that offer movement speed. You'll sacrifice a lot of damage and defense, so be prepared for a very dodge-heavy playstyle.
