After securing the farmhouse, your squad will advance towards a main road blocked by German defenses, including a machine gun nest. This is a critical choke point. Utilize the surrounding terrain for cover, such as ditches and overturned vehicles. Your primary goal is to suppress the machine gunner. Use your M1 Garand's accurate fire to pick off supporting infantry first. Once the supporting infantry is thinned out, focus fire on the machine gunner. Alternatively, if you have a clear line of sight, a well-placed fragmentation grenade can neutralize the threat. Coordinate with your squad; they will often lay down suppressing fire, allowing you to advance. Once the machine gun nest is silenced, push forward and clear any remaining enemy resistance around the roadblock. Be cautious of enemies attempting to counter-attack from the flanks.
