Beyond personal firearms, you'll encounter and utilize heavier weaponry and explosives throughout the campaign.
Mounted Machine Guns
- MG42 (German): A devastatingly fast-firing machine gun often found mounted on tripods or vehicles. When you get the chance to use one, it can clear large groups of enemies quickly, but leaves you vulnerable.
- Browning M1919 (Allied): Allied equivalent, also powerful and effective for suppressing large areas.
When operating a mounted machine gun, be aware of your limited field of view and vulnerability to flanking attacks. Use them to clear waves of enemies or destroy light vehicles, but don't stay exposed for too long.
Explosives
- Satchel Charges: Used for destroying specific objectives like anti-tank guns, bunkers, or bridges. You'll be prompted to plant these on designated targets. Once planted, retreat immediately.
- Panzerschreck/Bazooka: Anti-tank rocket launchers. You'll occasionally find these or be given them for specific objectives involving enemy armor. Aim carefully and lead moving targets.
Explosives are mission-critical for many objectives. Always prioritize their use on designated targets. When using anti-tank weapons, ensure you have a clear shot and are in a safe position, as they often have a slow reload time.
