Prestige System & Rewards

The Prestige System in Call of Duty: Black Ops II (RPG) offers dedicated players a path to reset their progression, unlock exclusive rewards, and demonstrate their mastery of the game. Upon reaching the maximum level (Level 55), you'll be presented with the option to "Prestige." This decision resets your rank, unlocks, and challenges, but in return, grants you access to unique benefits that enhance your gameplay experience and distinguish you from other soldiers.

There are a total of 10 Prestige levels, each offering a new set of rewards and a fresh start to climb the ranks once more. This system encourages continuous engagement, allowing you to experiment with different loadouts and strategies from the ground up, all while working towards ultimate bragging rights.

Initiating Prestige

Once you hit Level 55, the option to Prestige becomes available. Follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Barracks: From the main multiplayer menu, select "Barracks."
  2. Access Prestige Mode: Within the Barracks, you will see a prominent option labeled "Prestige Mode." Select this.
  3. Confirm Prestige: A confirmation screen will appear, detailing what will be reset and what you will gain. Carefully review this information. If you're ready, confirm your decision.

Important Note: Once you Prestige, there's no going back for that specific Prestige level. Your rank will reset to Level 1, and most unlocks will be gone. However, certain items and progress are retained, as detailed below.

What Resets and What Stays

Understanding what carries over and what doesn't is crucial for strategic Prestige planning:

Resets Upon Prestige:

  • Player Level: Your rank will reset to Level 1.
  • Weapon Levels & Attachments: All weapon progression, including unlocked attachments and camos, will reset. You'll need to re-earn them.
  • Perks: All unlocked Perks will be locked again.
  • Scorestreaks: All Scorestreaks will be locked again.
  • Challenges: Most challenges will reset, allowing you to earn their associated XP again.
  • Create-a-Class Slots: Your custom class slots will be reduced to the default number.

Retained Upon Prestige:

  • Calling Cards & Emblems: Any Calling Cards and Emblems you've earned or unlocked will remain available.
  • Camo Unlocks (Specific): Gold and Diamond camos for weapons you've fully mastered will remain unlocked, even if the weapon level resets.
  • Stats: Your overall Kill/Death Ratio, Win/Loss Ratio, and other combat records will persist across Prestiges.
  • League Play Rank: Your League Play division and rank are unaffected by Prestiging.

Prestige Rewards

Each time you Prestige, you earn a "Prestige Token" and unlock a choice of exclusive rewards. These rewards are designed to give you an edge or simply enhance your cosmetic options.

Prestige Token Choices:

Upon Prestiging, you'll receive one Prestige Token. This token can be spent on one of the following permanent unlocks:

  • Permanent Unlock: Choose any weapon, perk, scorestreak, or piece of equipment to permanently unlock for all future Prestiges. This means it will be available from Level 1 in every subsequent Prestige.
    • Strategy Tip: Consider permanently unlocking a high-level weapon you frequently use (e.g., AN-94, MSMC) or a critical perk (e.g., Ghost, Hardline) to give you an early game advantage.
  • Extra Create-a-Class Slot: Gain an additional custom class slot, allowing for more diverse loadout options. You can unlock up to 5 extra slots across your Prestiges.
  • Reset Stats: This option completely wipes your multiplayer stats (K/D, W/L, etc.) and leaderboard rankings. Use this if you want a completely fresh start without creating a new account.

Additional Prestige Rewards:

Beyond the Prestige Token, each Prestige level also grants you:

  • New Prestige Emblem: A unique emblem representing your current Prestige level, displayed next to your name in lobbies and scoreboards.
  • New Calling Card: An exclusive Calling Card to further customize your player profile.
  • Prestige Challenges: Access to a new set of challenges specific to your Prestige level, offering additional XP and cosmetic rewards.

Maximizing Your Prestige Journey

  • Weapon Grinding: Before Prestiging, focus on unlocking Gold camos for your favorite weapons. These will carry over, saving you time later.
  • Challenge Completion: Try to complete as many challenges as possible before Prestiging to maximize your XP gain and unlock Calling Cards/Emblems.
  • Strategic Unlocks: Carefully consider your permanent unlock choices. Early Prestiges might benefit from a strong primary weapon, while later Prestiges could focus on versatile perks or scorestreaks.
  • Experimentation: Don't be afraid to try new weapons and playstyles during each Prestige. The reset encourages you to adapt and master different aspects of the game.

By understanding and utilizing the Prestige System effectively, you'll not only unlock a wealth of exclusive content but also deepen your mastery of Call of Duty: Black Ops II (RPG), proving yourself as a truly elite soldier.
