Mission 10: Cordis Die

Welcome to "Cordis Die," a pivotal mission where the fate of the free world hangs in the balance. This guide will navigate you through the chaos of Los Angeles, providing tactical advice and item locations to ensure your success against Raul Menendez's forces.

Initial Assault & Vehicle Section

The mission begins with a high-octane vehicle sequence. Your primary objective is to defend President Bosworth's motorcade from relentless D.E.F.C.O.N. forces. You'll be operating a mounted weapon on a convoy vehicle.

Weaponry: You'll be equipped with a powerful M249 SAW with unlimited ammunition.
Targets: Prioritize enemy vehicles, especially those attempting to flank the President's limousine. Look out for enemy RPG soldiers on rooftops and elevated positions.
Strategy: Maintain a constant stream of fire. Don't be afraid to lay down suppressive fire on areas where enemies are likely to emerge. The M249's high rate of fire is excellent for shredding light vehicles and infantry.
Environmental Hazards: Be mindful of exploding vehicles and debris. While you're largely protected, these can obscure your vision.

Ground Combat: Downtown LA

After the vehicle section, you'll disembark and engage in intense street-level combat. This phase requires careful movement and tactical use of cover.

Securing the Plaza

Your first objective on foot is to clear the immediate plaza area of D.E.F.C.O.N. infantry. This area is often heavily contested.

Recommended Loadout: An assault rifle like the AN-94 or a submachine gun such as the MSMC paired with a Five-seveN pistol for close quarters is ideal. Consider equipping a Tactical Grenade (Flashbang or Concussion) for clearing entrenched enemies.
Cover: Utilize the various planters, kiosks, and overturned vehicles for cover. Do not overextend.
Enemy Types: Expect standard infantry, some with body armor. Headshots are always effective.
Item Location: Near the central fountain, you can often find an ammo crate if you're running low.

Advancing Through the Streets

As you push deeper into the city, the urban environment provides more opportunities for flanking and vertical engagement.

Building Interiors: Many buildings will be accessible. Use them to gain tactical advantages, bypass heavy enemy concentrations, or find alternative routes.
Sniper Nests: Be wary of enemy snipers positioned on rooftops. A quick scope with a DSR 50 or a precise burst from an assault rifle can neutralize them.
Explosive Barrels: Keep an eye out for red explosive barrels scattered throughout the environment. Shooting these near groups of enemies can clear them out quickly.
Item Location: Inside the collapsed parking garage on the left side of the main street, you can often find a grenade launcher attachment for your primary weapon, which is excellent for clearing out groups or destroying light vehicles.

The Aircraft Carrier Showdown

The climax of "Cordis Die" takes place on an aircraft carrier. This section is a multi-stage engagement requiring both direct combat and strategic objectives.

Breaching the Deck

Upon reaching the carrier, you'll need to fight your way across the flight deck, which is swarming with D.E.F.C.O.N. forces.

Heavy Resistance: Expect armored enemies, turrets, and potentially enemy air support (drones or helicopters).
Cover: Utilize the parked aircraft and various deck equipment for cover. Moving between these points under fire is crucial.
Anti-Air: If enemy helicopters appear, look for mounted Stinger missile launchers or stationary turrets to take them down quickly.
Item Location: Near the aft section of the flight deck, close to a downed jet, you can find a War Machine grenade launcher, which is devastating against groups of enemies.

Securing the Bridge

Your ultimate objective on the carrier is to reach and secure the bridge. This involves navigating the ship's interior.

Close Quarters: The ship's interior is tight, favoring SMGs and shotguns. The KRM-262 shotgun is exceptionally effective here.
Chokepoints: Be prepared for heavy resistance in doorways and corridors. Use frag grenades or Concussion grenades to clear these areas before advancing.
Final Stand: The bridge itself will be heavily defended. Use all available cover and your tactical equipment to eliminate the remaining D.E.F.C.O.N. soldiers.
Key Objective: Once the bridge is clear, interact with the main console to complete the mission objective.
