Mission 11: Suffering
Welcome to "Suffering," a pivotal mission in Call of Duty: Black Ops II that will test your tactical prowess and quick reflexes. This guide will walk you through each critical step, ensuring you navigate the challenges and achieve mission success.
Initial Engagement & Extraction Point
The mission begins with an immediate firefight. Your primary objective is to push through the initial enemy resistance and reach the designated extraction point.
- Weapon Loadout: We recommend a versatile assault rifle like the AN-94 for its balanced fire rate and damage, paired with a reliable secondary such as the Five-Seven for close-quarters encounters. Consider equipping Frag Grenades and Flashbangs for crowd control.
- Cover is Key: Utilize the abundant cover provided by the destroyed vehicles and rubble. Do not overextend; pick off enemies systematically.
- Enemy Snipers: Be aware of enemy snipers positioned on elevated platforms and rooftops. Prioritize these targets as they can quickly suppress your advance. A well-placed MMS (Millimeter Wave Scanner) attachment on your primary weapon can help identify them through cover.
- Path to Extraction: Follow the main street, clearing out enemy patrols. The extraction point will be marked on your HUD. Expect heavy resistance as you approach.
Defending the Extraction Zone
Once you reach the extraction zone, you'll need to hold your position against waves of incoming hostiles until your transport arrives.
- Perimeter Defense: Set up a defensive perimeter. The area offers several choke points and elevated positions. We suggest positioning yourself near the derelict bus for good sightlines and cover.
- Utilize Environmental Hazards: Look for explosive barrels or weak structures that can be used to take out groups of enemies.
- Grenade Spam: Expect enemies to attempt to flush you out with grenades. Be prepared to move and reposition frequently.
- Support from Allies: Your AI teammates will provide some covering fire, but don't rely solely on them. Keep an eye on their positions and provide assistance if they become overwhelmed.
- Incoming Vehicles: Be ready for enemy armored vehicles. Use any available RPG-7 or SMAW launchers found in the area (often near weapon crates or fallen allies) to quickly neutralize these threats.
The Final Push
After successfully defending the extraction zone, a new objective will appear, requiring you to push through a final enemy stronghold to secure a critical data packet.
- Breaching the Stronghold: This section often involves breaching a fortified building. Consider using a Breaching Charge if available, or coordinate with your team to clear the entrance.
- Close-Quarters Combat: Inside, expect tight corridors and intense close-quarters combat. A shotgun like the KSG or a submachine gun such as the MSMC can be highly effective here.
- Data Packet Location: The data packet is typically located on the top floor or in a secure server room. Look for glowing objective markers on your HUD.
- Final Resistance: Be prepared for a final wave of elite enemies guarding the data packet. These enemies often have heavier armor and more advanced weaponry. Focus fire and use your tactical grenades to gain an advantage.
- Mission Complete: Once the data packet is secured, the mission will conclude.
