When an enemy is in your sights, a lock-on indicator will appear; fire your missiles for guaranteed hits. deploy flares (down on D-pad) if you hear a missile lock warning to evade incoming projectiles.
The key to success in Jackal combat is situational awareness. Keep an eye on your radar for enemy positions and incoming threats. If you find yourself outnumbered, try to separate enemies and engage them individually. You'll also need to defend friendly capital ships from bomber runs.
