DMZ Contracts & Activities
DMZ offers a dynamic extraction experience where completing Contracts and engaging in various activities are crucial for acquiring valuable loot, XP, and faction reputation. Understanding the different types of contracts and how to approach them effectively will significantly boost your success rate and overall enjoyment.
Understanding Contracts
Contracts are objective-based missions found throughout the DMZ map. They are marked on your tactical map with distinct icons. Activating a contract reveals its specific objectives and often highlights key locations. Successfully completing contracts rewards you with Cash, XP, and sometimes specific items required for Faction Missions.
Types of Contracts
- Hunt Contracts: These contracts task you with eliminating a specific high-value target (HVT) within a designated area.
- Walkthrough:
- Activate the Hunt Contract from a Contract Phone.
- A yellow circle will appear on your map, indicating the general vicinity of the HVT.
- Move towards the area, keeping an eye out for the HVT's distinct icon (a skull with crosshairs) on your mini-map and in the world.
- The HVT is usually accompanied by a squad of heavily armored AI combatants. Approach with caution, ideally with a suppressed weapon to thin out the guards silently if possible.
- Prioritize eliminating the HVT. Once downed, confirm the kill to complete the contract.
- Strategy: use cover, maintain distance, and consider using a Sniper Rifle or Marksman Rifle for a quick, decisive kill on the HVT. Be prepared for a sustained firefight.
- Walkthrough:
- Secure Intel Contracts: These contracts require you to retrieve sensitive data from a specific location and upload it.
- Walkthrough:
- Activate the Secure Intel Contract.
- Head to the marked building or area. This location will be heavily guarded by AI.
- Locate the "Intel Upload" device, typically a laptop or computer terminal, within the building.
- Interact with the device to begin the upload. This process takes a short amount of time, during which you will be vulnerable.
- Defend the upload point from incoming AI reinforcements.
- Once the upload is complete, the contract is fulfilled.
- Strategy: Clear the immediate area around the Intel Upload device before initiating the upload. Place Claymores or Proximity Mines at entry points to deter enemies. Having a teammate cover your back is highly recommended.
- Walkthrough:
- Elimination Contracts: Similar to Hunt Contracts, but you'll be tasked with eliminating a set number of AI enemies within a specific zone.
- Walkthrough:
- Activate the Elimination Contract.
- Proceed to the marked zone on your map.
- Engage and eliminate the required number of AI combatants. A counter will display your progress.
- Once the target count is reached, the contract is complete.
- Strategy: These contracts are excellent for farming XP and weapon progression. Use several weapons to level them up. Be mindful of enemy spawns and potential ambushes.
- Walkthrough:
- Safecracker Contracts: These contracts involve locating and breaching multiple safes to extract their contents.
- Walkthrough:
- Activate the Safecracker Contract.
- Three safe locations will be marked on your map.
- Travel to each safe location, which will be within a building or fortified area.
- Place a charge on the safe and defend it while it detonates. This process is loud and will attract AI attention.
- Once the safe explodes, collect the valuable loot inside, which often includes Cash, high-tier weapons, and sometimes Keys.
- Repeat for all three safes to complete the contract.
- Strategy: Safecracker contracts are high-risk, high-reward. Bring plenty of armor plates and be prepared for intense firefights. Consider using a vehicle to quickly move between safe locations.
