Modern Warfare III doesn't feature traditional character creation in the RPG sense. Instead, you select from a roster of pre-defined 'Operators' who serve as your in-game avatar. These Operators are purely cosmetic and do not offer any gameplay advantages or unique abilities. They are categorized into two factions: SpecGru and KorTac.
Selecting Your Operator
From the main menu, navigate to the 'Operators' tab. Here you can browse the available Operators. Many are unlocked by default, while others are acquired through:
- Battle Pass Progression: New Operators are often featured as rewards in seasonal Battle Passes.
- Store Bundles: Cosmetic bundles in the in-game store frequently include unique Operator skins.
- Challenges: Some Operators or their alternate skins can be unlocked by completing specific in-game challenges.
Once unlocked, you can select an Operator for both the SpecGru and KorTac factions. The game will automatically assign you the appropriate Operator based on the faction you're playing on in a given match.
Operator Customization
While you can't create a character from scratch, you can customize your chosen Operators with various 'Skins' (outfits). These skins range from realistic military gear to more outlandish cosmetic options. Skins are acquired through the same methods as Operators (Battle Pass, Store, Challenges). Some Operators also have unique 'Finishing Moves' that can be equipped, offering a stylish way to eliminate unsuspecting enemies from behind.
