Understanding the core fundamentals of this new iteration is crucial for survival and success against the relentless undead.
The New Open-World Structure
Unlike previous iterations, MWIII Zombies features a large, open map divided into distinct threat zones. These zones, ranging from low to high threat, dictate the difficulty of enemies and the quality of loot available. Players will navigate this map, completing various contracts and missions to earn rewards and progress.
Contracts and Objectives
The primary way to progress and earn valuable resources is by completing Contracts. These are optional objectives scattered across the map, offering rewards upon completion. Common contract types include:
- Aether Extractors: Activate and defend extractors from incoming zombie waves.
- Defend Zone: Hold a specific area against waves of zombies for a set duration.
- Scavenger: Locate and destroy a specific number of hidden caches.
- Bounty: Eliminate a specific high-value target zombie.
- Secure Area: Clear a desated area of all zombies.
Completing contracts rewards players with Essence (currency), Perk-a-Cola schematics, weapon unlocks, and valuable gear.
Essence and the Mystery Box
Essence is the in-game currency used to purchase items from the Buy Stations and the Mystery Box. You earn Essence by killing zombies, completing contracts, and looting. The Mystery Box is a staple of Zombies, offering a chance to acquire powerful weapons, Wonder Weapons, and other useful items for a set Essence cost.
Perks and Pack-a-Punch
Perks return in MWIII Zombies, offering sificant combat advantages. These can be purchased from Perk-a-Cola machines scattered around the map:
- Speed Cola: Increases reload and equipment speed.
- Juggernog: Sificantly increases maximum health.
- Stamin-Up: Increases movement and sprint speed.
- Quick Revive: Speeds up revives and increases health regeneration.
- Elemental Pop: Adds a random elemental effect to your weapon.
The Pack-a-Punch machine allows you to upgrade your weapons, increasing their damage, adding ammo capacity, and unlocking special effects. This is essential for tackling higher-tier threats.
Exfil Strategy
At the end of each match, players have the option to Exfil. This involves reaching a desated Exfil point and surviving a final wave of zombies. Successful exfiltration allows you to keep acquired schematics and weapons for future deployments. Failure to exfil means losing most of your inventory.
Mastering these fundamentals will provide a strong foundation for your survival in Modern Warfare III Zombies. Adapt to the evolving threats, strategize with your squad, and always prioritize your exfil.
