Vehicle Types & Uses
Mastering vehicle usage in Warzone is crucial for map traversal, tactical repositioning, and even aggressive plays. Understanding each vehicle's strengths, weaknesses, and optimal scenarios can significantly impact your squad's survival and success. Always be mindful of the gas, enemy positions, and potential ambushes when operating a vehicle.
Light Tactical Vehicles (ATV/Quad Bike)
The ATV, often referred to as a Quad Bike, is the most common and agile ground vehicle in Warzone. It's a two-seater, open-top vehicle known for its speed and maneuverability.
- Capacity: 2 players (Driver + Passenger)
- Speed: Very High
- Durability: Low
- Locations: Extremely common across all maps, often found near roads, small settlements, and gas stations.
- Strategic Uses:
- Rapid Repositioning: Ideal for quickly escaping the gas or rotating to a new zone. Its speed allows you to outrun most threats.
- Scouting: A single player can use it to scout ahead, though this leaves them vulnerable.
- Flanking: Its agility makes it excellent for flanking enemy positions, especially in open terrain.
- Hit-and-Run Tactics: Drive by an enemy position, have your passenger lay down suppressing fire, and quickly escape.
- Drawbacks: Very low health, making it easy to destroy with a few well-placed shots or a single rocket. Passengers are exposed.
- Pro-Tip: If you're being shot at, try to drive erratically to make yourself a harder target. Consider bailing out if the vehicle takes too much damage, especially if you have a safe landing spot.
Utility Vehicles (SUV/Jeep)
The SUV, or Jeep, offers a balance of speed, protection, and passenger capacity. It's a versatile choice for squads needing to move together.
- Capacity: 4 players (Driver + 3 Passengers)
- Speed: Medium-High
- Durability: Medium
- Locations: Commonly found in larger towns, military bases, and main road intersections.
- Strategic Uses:
- Squad Transport: Perfect for moving a full squad across the map safely and efficiently.
- Cover: Offers decent protection from small arms fire due to its enclosed cabin.
- Road Blocking: Can be strategically parked to block doorways or narrow passages, though this is risky.
- Drawbacks: Slower than the ATV, making it less effective for quick escapes under heavy fire. Still vulnerable to explosives.
- Pro-Tip: If you're being targeted by a rocket launcher, try to swerve sharply just before impact to potentially avoid a direct hit or minimize damage.
Cargo Trucks
The Cargo Truck is a slow but heavily armored vehicle, ideal for moving large amounts of loot or for creating mobile cover.
- Capacity: 6 players (Driver + 1 Passenger in cabin, 4 in the exposed bed)
- Speed: Low
- Durability: High
- Locations: Often found in industrial areas, larger military zones, and along major highways.
- Strategic Uses:
- Mobile Cover: The truck's body provides excellent cover for players in the bed, allowing them to engage enemies while moving.
- Loot Hauling: If you've cleared a high-tier loot area, a truck can quickly transport your entire squad and their findings.
- Zone Pushing: Can be used to slowly push into a contested area, absorbing some enemy fire.
- Distraction: Its large size and slow speed can draw enemy attention, allowing teammates to flank.
- Drawbacks: Extremely slow, making it an easy target for sustained fire and explosives. Players in the bed are exposed to overhead attacks.
- Pro-Tip: When using a Cargo Truck, assign one player to be the dedicated driver and others to provide covering fire from the bed. Be wary of C4 or thermite being thrown onto the truck.
Helicopters (Light Helo)
The Light Helo provides unparalleled aerial mobility, offering a bird's-eye view of the battlefield and rapid deployment capabilities.
- Capacity: 4 players (Pilot + 3 Passengers)
- Speed: Very High (Air)
- Durability: Medium
- Locations: Usually found at specific helipads in major POIs like the Airport, Dam, Stadium, and sometimes in open fields.
- Strategic Uses:
- Rapid Deployment: Quickly traverse the entire map, ideal for reaching distant zones or escaping the gas.
- Reconnaissance: The pilot can spot enemy positions from above, providing valuable intel to the squad.
- High Ground Advantage: Can be used to land on rooftops or other elevated positions that are otherwise inaccessible.
- Airborne Assault: Passengers can fire down on enemies from the air, though accuracy can be challenging.
- Drawbacks: Very loud, immediately giving away your position. Highly vulnerable to anti-air launchers (e.g., JOKR, Strela-P) and sustained LMG fire. Landing in contested areas is extremely risky.
- Pro-Tip: When flying, maintain a decent altitude to avoid ground fire, but not so high that you become an easy target for launchers. Always have an exit strategy in mind if the helicopter takes damage. Consider bailing out over water or a safe landing zone if it's about to explode.
