The match begins even before you hit the ground. The pre-game lobby is your chance to warm up your aim and test weapon attachments. Once the actual match starts, your drop location is one of the most critical decisions you'll make.
Pre-Game Lobby:
- Warm-up: Use this time to practice your aim, test different weapons, and get a feel for the game's mechanics.
- Squad Communication: If playing with a squad, use this time to discuss your drop strategy. Where do you want to land? What's your primary objective (loot, contracts, early fights)?
Drop Strategy:
Your initial drop sets the tone for the entire match. Consider these factors:
- Hot vs. Cold Drops: Hot drops (e.g., Superstore, Airport, Downtown, Peak) offer high-tier loot and immediate action but come with high risk. Cold drops (e.g., smaller villages, isolated buildings) provide safer looting but potentially less valuable gear.
- Flight Path: Observe the plane's flight path. Areas directly under the path will be more contested. Landing further away requires more gliding time but can lead to quieter starts.
- Team Spacing: Don't all land on the exact same building. Spread out slightly to cover more ground for looting, but stay close enough to provide immediate support.
- Parachute Mechanics: Master the art of 'fast dropping' by diving straight down until you hit max speed, then pulling your chute and cutting it repeatedly to maintain momentum and cover distance quickly. Look for open doors or windows to land directly inside buildings.
Objective: Secure initial weapons, armor, and cash as quickly and safely as possible.
