Navigating the Ballroom
The Ballroom, also known as the Dance Hall, is a majestic and sprawling area within Dracula's Castle, characterized by its elegant decor, chandeliers, and treacherous enemies. It serves as a crucial pathway to other sections of the castle and holds valuable items and souls. This guide will walk you through its intricacies, ensuring you collect every secret and overcome every challenge.
Entry Point and Initial Exploration
You will typically enter the Ballroom from the Castle Corridor. After defeating the Great Armor and proceeding right, you'll find yourself in the Ballroom's grand entrance. Prepare for immediate combat as you step into this new territory.
- Initial Enemies:
- Skeletons: Standard fodder, easily dispatched.
- Fleamen: Small, agile, and annoying. Their erratic jumps can be tricky. Use wide-arc weapons or magic.
- Path: Proceed right through the main hall. You'll notice the opulent background and the occasional falling chandelier (though these are mostly decorative).
Encountering Killer Clowns and Soul Acquisition
As you delve deeper into the Ballroom, you'll encounter a new, more whimsical yet dangerous enemy: the Killer Clown.
- Killer Clowns: These enemies are known for their projectile attacks, throwing playing cards at Soma. They can be a nuisance if not dealt with quickly.
- Killer Clown Soul (Guardian): This is a highly sought-after soul that allows Soma to summon a Killer Clown to throw cards for him. It's a Guardian Soul, not a Bullet Soul, meaning it occupies your Guardian slot and provides continuous support. This soul can be incredibly useful for ranged attacks and dealing with multiple enemies. Farm these enemies if you want to acquire this soul early.
Vertical Shaft and Essential Rooms
Continue moving right until you reach a large vertical shaft. This shaft is a key navigational point within the Ballroom.
- Descent: Carefully descend the shaft. Be mindful of any lingering enemies or new threats that might appear.
- Save Room and Warp Room: At the bottom of the shaft, head left. Here, you will find two critical rooms:
- Save Room: Essential for saving your progress and fully restoring your HP and MP. Always utilize these rooms.
- Warp Room: Activates a fast-travel point, allowing you to quickly move between different sections of the castle. activate it!
Lower Ballroom Exploration and Succubus Soul
From the Save Room, head right to explore the lower sections of the Ballroom. This area introduces new enemies and offers another valuable soul.
- New Enemies:
- Succubi: These winged demons are agile and can drain your HP. They are often found floating in the air.
- Ghost: Simple, ethereal enemies that float towards Soma.
- Succubus Soul (Enchant): This is an incredibly useful Enchant Soul. When equipped, it restores a small amount of HP each time Soma absorbs a heart from a defeated enemy or a candle. This soul significantly improves your survivability and reduces the need for healing items, making sustained exploration much easier. Prioritize acquiring this soul.
Navigating Towards the Study
As you continue through the lower Ballroom, you'll eventually find a path leading to the Study. This is the correct progression path after fully exploring the Ballroom.
- Path to Study: Look for an exit on the right side of the lower Ballroom that leads to a new area. This will be your entry point into the Study.
Important Items and Secrets in the Ballroom
Keep an eye out for hidden walls and breakable objects. The Ballroom contains several useful items.
- Potions/High Potions: Often found in candles or dropped by enemies.
- Money Bags: Scattered throughout, providing valuable gold for the shop.
- Hidden Walls: Look for suspicious-looking walls that can be broken to reveal secret rooms. These often contain rare items or equipment.
- Soul Eater Ring (Potential): While not directly in the Ballroom, the path to the Study from the Ballroom will eventually lead you to areas where you can acquire the Soul Eater Ring, which significantly increases soul drop rates. Keep this in mind for later farming.

For navigating the Ballroom, consider the following:
- Weapons:
- Broadsword/Claymore: Good for dealing with Skeletons and Fleamen due to their wider hitboxes.

- Bat Company Soul (Guardian): For reaching higher ledges or bypassing some enemies.
