Walkthrough: Top Floor

Welcome to the Top Floor, Soma! This area marks a significant step towards the final confrontation, and it's packed with challenging enemies and valuable secrets. Be prepared for some aerial combat and precise platforming.

Initial Ascent and First Encounters

  • From the save point you likely just used, head right. You'll immediately encounter a new enemy: the Great Armor. These hulking knights are slow but hit hard. Their attacks are telegraphed, so dodge and counter.
  • Continue right, and you'll find yourself in a vertical shaft. Ascend, dealing with any Fleamen or Gargoyles that harass you.
  • At the top of this shaft, take the exit to the right. You'll enter a long, horizontal corridor.
  • Here, you'll face more Great Armors and potentially some pesky Ghost enemies. The Ghosts can be annoying with their unpredictable movements, so dispatch them quickly.
  • Keep an eye out for a breakable wall in this corridor. It's usually located around the middle. Destroy it to reveal a hidden room containing a High Potion. Every bit of healing helps!

The Clock Tower and Beyond

  • Proceed further right until you reach a large, open area that resembles a clock tower. This is a key junction.
  • Your immediate goal is to head upwards. Use your double jump and any movement souls (like the Bat Company or Giant Bat) to navigate the platforms.
  • Be wary of Medusa Heads here. Their petrifying gaze can be a real nuisance, especially when trying to make precise jumps. Equip the Medusa Head soul yourself if you want to turn the tables, or use a weapon with good vertical reach.
  • As you ascend, you'll find a path leading to the left. Take it. This leads to a small room with a Magic Ring. This accessory is excellent for mages, increasing your MP regeneration rate.
  • Return to the clock tower area and continue your ascent. You'll eventually reach the very top.

The Upper Corridors and Final Preparations

  • Once at the top of the clock tower, head right. You'll enter another series of horizontal corridors.
  • These corridors are often patrolled by Succubi, who can charm you, and more Great Armors. Prioritize the Succubi to avoid being controlled.
  • Look for a hidden room along the ceiling in one of these corridors. It requires careful jumping or the Giant Bat soul to reach. Inside, you'll find a valuable Rare Ring, which significantly boosts your luck stat, increasing item drop rates. This is a must-have for soul farming!
  • Continue right until you reach a room with a single, large door. This door leads to the final boss of this section.
  • Before entering, make sure you're fully healed, have your best equipment, and your preferred souls equipped. A save point is usually nearby, so backtrack if needed.

Boss Strategy: Graham Jones

Graham Jones is a formidable opponent, and his fight will test your combat skills. He has two main forms:

Phase 1: Human Form

  • Graham will primarily attack with energy projectiles and a quick dash attack.
  • His energy projectiles can be dodged by jumping or ducking.
  • When he dashes, he's vulnerable for a brief moment after he stops. Get a few hits in.
  • He also has a move where he summons a pillar of light. This is telegraphed by a glowing circle on the ground. Move out of the way quickly.
  • Focus on consistent damage and avoiding his attacks. The Axe Armor soul can be effective for its high damage output, or the Killer Clown soul for its rapid-fire projectiles.

Phase 2: Demonic Form

  • After taking enough damage, Graham transforms into a larger, more demonic entity.
  • In this form, he gains new attacks, including a powerful laser beam that sweeps across the screen. Double jump over it or slide under if possible.
  • He also has a ground pound attack that creates shockwaves. Jump to avoid the shockwaves.
  • His weak point is often his head or torso. Aim for these areas.
  • Maintain your offensive, but prioritize dodging. This phase is more about endurance and precise movement.
  • Consider using a soul that provides invincibility frames during its attack, like the Gorgon soul's petrifying gaze if you can land it, or simply a high-damage weapon soul.

Defeating Graham will open the path forward and advance the story significantly. Congratulations, you're almost there!
