Sub-weapons are secondary attacks that consume hearts. You can only carry one sub-weapon at a time, so choose wisely based on the current stage or boss. Press Up + B to use your equipped sub-weapon.

| Axe | 1 | Flies in an arc, hitting enemies above or below you. | Hitting enemies on different elevations (Axe Armors, Bone Pillars). Effective against some flying bosses or enemies that are hard to reach with the whip. |
| Holy Water | 1 | Thrown in an arc, creates a flame pillar on the ground that deals continuous damage. | Ground-based enemies (Zombies, Knights). Incredibly effective against many bosses (Cyclops, Frankenstein's Monster, Death, Dracula Phase 1). |
| Cross (Boomerang) | 1 | Flies forward, then returns to Trevor like a boomerang, hitting enemies twice. | Flying enemies (Medusa Heads, Ravens). Excellent for bosses, as it can hit multiple times on its outward and return journey. |
| Stopwatch | 5 | Freezes all on-screen enemies for a short duration. | Bypassing difficult enemy formations or environmental hazards. Not effective against bosses. High heart cost makes it situational. |
Remember that Sypha has her own unique spells (Fire, Ice, Lightning) that function similarly to sub-weapons but are exclusive to her.
