Recruiting Allies Walkthrough
Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse introduces a unique mechanic where Trevor Belmont can recruit several allies to aid him in his quest. Each ally offers distinct abilities that can overcome specific obstacles and combat challenges. Successfully recruiting these companions is key to unlocking the game's full potential and reaching the true ending.
Your first potential ally is encountered in Stage 2, the Forest of Monsters. Here, you will find Grant Danasty, a nimble thief. Grant can cling to walls and ceilings, allowing him to traverse areas inaccessible to Trevor and attack from unique angles. To recruit him, you must defeat the stage's boss, a large, lumbering beast. After the battle, Grant will offer his services.
The next ally, Sypha Belnades, a powerful sorcerer, can be found in Stage 4, the Village of Corruption. Sypha wields various elemental magic spells, including fire, ice, and lightning, making her incredibly effective against many enemies. She is initially found trapped in a crystal. You must break the crystal to free her. Be prepared for a challenging fight before you can recruit her.
The final potential ally, Alucard, Dracula's dhampir son, is a formidable fighter with abilities that rival Trevor's. He is encountered in Stage 7, the Clock Tower. Alucard possesses a powerful sword attack and can transform into a bat, allowing for aerial mobility. His recruitment is tied to a specific path choice made earlier in the game. If you choose the correct route, you will encounter him as a boss. Defeating him will lead to his joining your party.
Each ally has a unique sub-weapon and special attack. Grant's dagger throw is fast and can hit multiple enemies. Sypha's spells are area-of-effect and deal sificant damage. Alucard's attacks are strong and can be chained. Experiment with each character to discover their strengths and how they can best complement Trevor's abilities. The choice of allies can sificantly alter the difficulty of certain stages and the overall progression through Dracula's Curse.
