Hearts are your most valuable resource, powering all sub-weapons and Sypha's/Alucard's special abilities. Effective heart management is critical for success.
- Conserve Hearts: Don't spam sub-weapons unnecessarily. Use your whip for most standard enemies. Save hearts for challenging sections, mini-bosses, and main bosses.
- Prioritize Large Hearts: Always go out of your way to collect large hearts (5 hearts) when they appear.
- Character Switching for Hearts: If one character is low on hearts but another has a surplus, consider switching to the character with more hearts if their sub-weapon is needed. However, remember that hearts are shared across the party.
- Health vs. Hearts: Sometimes, taking a small hit to conserve hearts for a crucial sub-weapon can be a valid strategy, especially if you know a health pickup is coming soon.
- Know When to Use Stopwatch: The Stopwatch is expensive (5 hearts) but can be a lifesaver in specific, overwhelming situations or to bypass a particularly annoying platforming section. Don't waste it on trivial enemies.
A well-managed heart supply can be the difference between victory and defeat, especially in the later stages of Dracula's Castle.
