Experience and Skill Unlocks

Gabriel gains experience points (XP) by defeating enemies and successfully completing stages. Accumulating XP unlocks new combat skills for the Combat Cross, secondary weapons, and magic abilities. These skills are crucial for expanding your combat repertoire and tackling tougher encounters.

Earn XP: Focus on dispatching every enemy you encounter. Don't rush through areas; clear them thoroughly.
Combat Proficiency: Performing varied combos and executing perfect blocks/dodges often grants bonus XP. Experiment with different attack patterns to maximize your gains. Successfully completing a QTE (Quick Time Event) also awards a significant XP bonus.
Skill Menu: Access the skill menu (typically by pressing the Start button and navigating to the "Skills" tab) to review available upgrades. New skills are categorized by the weapon or magic type they enhance. Skills are purchased using accumulated XP.

  - Stage 1 - Besieged Village: After the first major combat encounter with the Goblins and the Warg, proceed through the village. Before dropping down to the area with the second Warg encounter, look for a destructible wall on the left side of the path, near a small wooden structure. Break it with your Combat Cross to reveal a hidden alcove containing the shard.
  - Stage 2 - Hunting Path: After defeating the first group of Goblins and crossing the fallen tree bridge, you'll enter a small clearing. To your right, there's a destructible rock formation. Destroy it to uncover another Health Gem Shard.
- Magic Gem Shard:
  - Stage 1 - Besieged Village: After the first Warg encounter, you'll climb a series of ledges. At the top, before entering the next building, look for a small path to your right that leads to a hidden area with a Magic Gem Shard.
  - Stage 2 - Hunting Path: After the encounter with the two Wargs in the open area, before proceeding to the next section of the path (which involves climbing), look for a hidden path to the left, obscured by some vines and foliage. Slash through the vines to reveal a small cave containing the shard.
  - Stage 3 - Wygol Village: Upon entering the village, after the cutscene, head immediately to your right. There's a small, partially hidden path behind some ruins that leads to a Magic Gem Shard.
Collection Strategy: Prioritize collecting these shards as they provide permanent stat increases that make all subsequent encounters easier. Revisit stages with new abilities (like the Seraph Shoulders for double jump) to reach previously inaccessible areas.

Secondary Weapon Upgrades

Gabriel's secondary weapons – Daggers, Holy Water, and Fairies – can be upgraded to increase their effectiveness or carry capacity. These upgrades are found as specific items within the game world, often in chests or as rewards for completing puzzles.

Dagger Upgrade: Look for the "Silver Dagger Upgrade" item. This typically increases the damage and number of daggers you can carry.
