Gabriel can carry a selection of sub-weapons, each with a limited number of uses, but invaluable in specific situations. These include: Daggers (quick, ranged projectiles for interrupting enemies or hitting distant switches), Holy Water (an area-of-effect attack that damages and stuns enemies, particularly effective against undead), Fairies (distract enemies, allowing Gabriel to attack freely or escape), and Dark Crystal (a powerful, single-use item that deals massive damage to all enemies on screen). Sub-weapons are replenished by finding their respective pickups in the environment or by purchasing them from Brotherhood Arks. Strategic use of sub-weapons can turn the tide of a difficult battle, especially against bosses or large groups of enemies. Don't hoard them; use them when needed to gain an advantage.
