Chapter VII: The Titan Graveyard
Welcome, brave adventurer, to the desolate expanse of the Titan Graveyard. This chapter marks a significant shift in your journey, introducing new challenges and demanding precise execution. Prepare for encounters with formidable foes and environmental puzzles that require keen observation and timing.
7.1: The Dead Bog
Upon entering The Dead Bog, you'll immediately notice the oppressive atmosphere and the lingering threat of the undead. Your primary objective here is to navigate the treacherous terrain and locate the path forward.
- Initial Path: Follow the linear path, dispatching any Ghouls that rise from the murky waters. These enemies are relatively weak but can overwhelm you in numbers. use area-of-effect attacks like the Earthquake Punch or Cyclone Magic if you have them.
- First Encounter: You'll soon come across a larger group of Ghouls and potentially a Swamp Troll. Focus on the Troll first, as its attacks are more damaging. Dodge its heavy swings and counter with powerful combos.
- Hidden Item - Life Gem: After defeating the initial enemies, look for a small, overgrown alcove to your left before proceeding to the next open area. Inside, you'll find a Life Gem chest. These are crucial for increasing your maximum health.
- Navigating the Bog: The bog itself is a series of platforms and submerged paths. Be mindful of areas where the ground appears unstable; these are often quicksand traps. Stick to solid ground or jump across gaps.
- Path to the Gate: Continue through the bog, fighting off more Ghouls. You'll eventually reach a large, ornate gate. This gate is locked and requires a specific mechanism to open.
- Gate Mechanism: To open the gate, you'll need to find a crank. Look for a small, elevated platform to the right of the gate. Use your Combat Cross to grapple onto the ledge and climb up. The crank is located here. Activate it to open the gate.
7.2: The Forsaken Lake
Beyond the gate lies The Forsaken Lake, a vast body of water dominated by the skeletal remains of colossal Titans. This area introduces a new environmental hazard and a unique enemy type.
- Lake Navigation: The lake is too deep to simply walk across. You'll need to find a way to traverse it. Look for a series of floating debris and small islands. These will serve as your path.
- New Enemy - Water Lycan: As you cross the lake, you'll encounter Water Lycans. These agile creatures can swim quickly and attack from the water. They are vulnerable when they leap onto platforms. Use your Chain Whip to pull them closer or knock them back into the water for easier disposal.
- Environmental Puzzle - Raising the Bridge: You'll reach a point where a section of the path is missing, forming a large gap. To bridge this, you need to activate a nearby mechanism. Look for a series of glowing runes on a pillar to your left. Use your Shadow Magic to activate them, which will raise a section of the bridge.
- Hidden Item - Light Gem: After raising the bridge, before crossing it, explore the small island directly opposite the pillar with the runes. There's a hidden chest containing a Light Gem here.
- Continuing Across the Lake: Cross the newly formed bridge and continue navigating the floating platforms. Be prepared for more Water Lycan encounters.
- Reaching the Shore: Eventually, you'll reach the far shore of the lake. Here, you'll face a more significant challenge.
7.3: The Stone Titan
The Stone Titan is the boss encounter for this chapter. This colossal foe requires a specific strategy to defeat, focusing on exploiting its weaknesses and using your environment.
- Phase 1 - Attacking the Legs: The Stone Titan is initially immobile, but its legs are vulnerable. Focus your attacks on its glowing joints. Use powerful combos and Light Magic enhanced attacks to deal maximum damage. Dodge its stomping attacks, which create shockwaves.
- Phase 2 - Climbing the Titan: Once you've damaged its legs sufficiently, the Titan will become active and attempt to crush you. Look for glowing grapple points on its body. Use your Combat Cross to latch on and begin climbing.
- Climbing Strategy: As you climb, the Titan will try to shake you off. Pay attention to the rumble and visual cues. When it shakes, hold on tight to avoid falling. Navigate around its body, looking for the next glowing joint.
- Exploiting Weaknesses: There are several glowing joints on the Titan's body. Each one is a weak point. Attack these vigorously. After destroying a joint, the Titan will react, often creating an opening to reach the next one.
- Final Weak Point: The ultimate weak point is usually on its head or chest. Once you reach it, unleash your most powerful attacks. Quick Time Events (QTEs) will occur during this phase. Successfully complete them to deal massive damage.
- Victory: Continue attacking the weak points and completing QTEs until the Stone Titan is defeated. This will conclude Chapter VII.
