Bestiary: Skeleton
Skeleton (No. 003)
Skeletons are common undead enemies found throughout various Castlevania locations, particularly in graveyards and castle interiors. They typically wield a sword and shield, attacking with basic melee strikes. They are relatively slow but can be dangerous in groups.
- Weaknesses: Holy, Blunt
- Resistances: None sificant
- Drops:
- Common: Bones, Small HP Potion
- Rare: Bone Helm (Head Armor)
Strategy: Skeletons are easily dispatched with basic attacks. The Confodere Glyph is effective due to its sword-like nature. For a more efficient approach, especially when facing multiple Skeletons, consider using the Fulgur (lightning) Glyph to stun them, or the Glacies (ice) Glyph to freeze them, allowing for easy follow-up attacks. Holy-based Glyphs like Sanctus are also highly effective.
Bestiary: Giant Bat
Giant Bat
This formidable airborne creature is often encountered in forest areas and caves. It attacks by swooping down at high speeds and can emit a sonic screech that disorients Shanoa. Its erratic movement makes it a challenging target.
- Weaknesses: Fire, Pierce
- Resistances: None sificant
- Drops:
- Common: Bat Wing, Small MP Potion
- Rare: Bat Ring (Accessory - increases jump height)
Strategy: As noted in its weaknesses, Fire and Pierce damage are key. The is Glyph is excellent for dealing consistent damage, especially when used in a union with Confodere to create a fiery sword. If you have the Viper Glyph, its rapid projectiles can also be effective. Focus on dodging its dives and screeches. When it hovers briefly, it's your chance to strike. The Confodere Glyph itself, when used with precise timing, can hit the bat as it swoops.
Bestiary: Zombie
Zombie
Slow-moving but resilient, Zombies are common undead foes that shamble towards Shanoa, attacking with clumsy swipes. They can absorb a surprising amount of damage before falling.
- Weaknesses: Holy, Blunt
- Resistances: Poison
- Drops:
- Common: Rotten Meat, Small HP Potion
- Rare: Zombie Mail (Body Armor - provides poison resistance)
Strategy: Zombies are best dealt with using Holy Glyphs like Sanctus. If you don't have access to Holy Glyphs, blunt weapons or strong physical attacks are effective. The Crag Glyph can also be useful for its raw power. Due to their slow speed, you can often outmaneuver them or use Glyphs that hit multiple enemies, such as Somnus combined with a weapon Glyph, to put them to sleep before finishing them off.
