Upon entering the Monastery, Master Barlowe will instruct you on the art of Glyph absorption. Approach the glowing Glyph statues and press the Y button to absorb them. You will first acquire Confodere, a basic sword Glyph, which you should immediately equip to your L or R slot. Shortly after, you'll also absorb Magnes, a utility Glyph that allows Shanoa to attach to magnetic surfaces and propel herself across gaps. This Glyph is essential for navigating many areas in the game. Practice using Magnes to cross the initial chasms in the Monastery. Remember that Glyphs can also be absorbed from certain enemies after defeating them, so always be on the lookout for glowing enemies. The tutorial ensures you understand this fundamental mechanic before proceeding to more challenging areas.
