Congratulations, you've reached the true final confrontation! This battle is against a familiar foe, but with a twist. To achieve the true ending, you must have completed all the prerequisites, including rescuing Charlotte from the Dark Academy and obtaining the Sanctuary spell from the Forest of Doom. If you haven't, you'll face a different, less satisfying conclusion.
Preparation is Key
Before entering the final battle, ensure your characters are optimally equipped. This means having your best weapons, armor, and accessories. Consider the following:
- Weapons: For Jonathan, the Vampire Killer is always a strong choice, especially if fully upgraded. Charlotte should have a powerful magic-boosting weapon like the Wizard's Staff or Artemis Bow (if you've found it).
- Armor: Prioritize defense and resistances. The Dracula's Tunic for Jonathan and Minerva Mail for Charlotte are excellent late-game options.
- Accessories: The Chaos Ring is invaluable for MP regeneration, allowing Charlotte to cast more frequently. The Master Ring can boost Jonathan's attack power.
- Sub-Weapons: Jonathan's Cross or Axe sub-weapons are effective for their range and damage.
- Spells: Charlotte's Heal spell is crucial for recovery. Equip powerful offensive spells like Thunderbolt, Ice Needle, or Fireball for consistent damage. Most importantly, ensure Sanctuary is equipped.
- Consumables: Stock up on High Potions, Super Potions, and Mana Prisms.
Battle Strategy: Brauner
The first phase of the true ending boss fight is against Brauner. He's a formidable opponent, but with the right strategy, he can be overcome.
- Initial Engagement: Brauner will typically start by summoning paintings that fire projectiles. Have Jonathan focus on destroying these quickly while Charlotte casts offensive spells.
- Avoid the Paintings: Brauner's main attack involves creating various paintings that act as hazards. These can be:
- Projectile Paintings: These fire energy blasts. Destroy them with Jonathan's whip or Charlotte's spells.
- Spike Paintings: These paintings will emerge from the ground or ceiling, creating spike traps. Watch the ground and ceiling carefully and move to safe spots.

- Maintain Sanctuary: Keep Sanctuary active as much as possible. If it wears off, recast it immediately. This spell is your primary source of damage and protection in this phase.
- Dracula's Attacks: While Sanctuary is active, Dracula will still attack. His main attacks include:
- Fireballs: He will shoot multiple fireballs. Jump or duck to avoid them.
- Dark Energy Orbs: He'll summon slow-moving dark orbs that track you. Destroy them with Jonathan's whip or Charlotte's spells.
- Teleportation and Claw Swipes: Dracula will teleport around the arena and attempt to swipe at you with his claws. Stay mobile and anticipate his movements.
- Hellfire: A classic Dracula attack, he'll summon pillars of fire from the ground. Watch for the ground indicators and move to safety.
