Item Locations (by Stage)

This section details the precise locations of all significant items, power-ups, and hidden bonuses within each stage of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. Mastering these locations is crucial for maximizing your score, acquiring powerful sub-weapons, and uncovering secrets.

Stage 1: The Haunted Village

Leather Whip Upgrade: Early in the stage, after the first few Zombie encounters, you'll reach a small elevated platform with a candle. Destroy this candle to reveal the Leather Whip Upgrade. This is a crucial early-game power-up, increasing your whip's range and damage.
Heart: Immediately after the Leather Whip Upgrade, you'll encounter a series of Mermen. One of the candles in this area, typically on a lower platform, will drop a large Heart, replenishing your sub-weapon ammunition.
Knife Sub-Weapon: Progress further until you reach the burning house. Just before entering the house, there's a candle on the ground level to the right. Break it to obtain the Knife sub-weapon. This is a fast, projectile weapon useful for dispatching distant enemies.
Hidden Money Bag (500 points): Inside the burning house, after climbing the first set of stairs, look for a breakable wall section on the left. Hit it with your whip to reveal a hidden Money Bag.
Rosary: After exiting the burning house and dealing with the first Axe Armor, you'll see a candle on a higher platform. Destroy it for a Rosary, which clears all on-screen enemies. Save this for tougher encounters or crowded areas.

Stage 2: The Forest of Monsters

Axe Sub-Weapon: At the very beginning of the stage, as you move right, you'll encounter a series of candles. The second or third candle you destroy will yield the Axe sub-weapon. The Axe is a powerful, arcing projectile that can hit enemies above and below you.
Hidden Turkey (Full Health): After the first few Skeleton encounters, you'll come across a small waterfall. Stand directly in front of the waterfall and whip the ground repeatedly. A hidden Turkey will appear, fully restoring your health. This is an invaluable secret for maintaining your health bar.
Cross Sub-Weapon: Continue through the forest until you reach a section with several Fleamen. On a higher ledge, usually guarded by a Fleaman, there will be a candle containing the Cross sub-weapon. The Cross is a boomerang-like projectile that hits enemies on its return path.
Money Bag (1000 points): After the Cross, you'll navigate a series of platforms over a chasm. On one of the lower, more precarious platforms, a candle will drop a high-value Money Bag. Be careful not to fall!
Invisibility Potion: Towards the end of the stage, just before the boss arena, there's a final series of candles. One of these, often on a slightly elevated platform, will contain an Invisibility Potion, granting temporary invincibility.

Stage 3: The Old Bridge & Clock Tower

Holy Water Sub-Weapon: As you begin crossing the old bridge, you'll encounter several Bone Pillars. The first few candles you break on the bridge itself will likely yield the Holy Water sub-weapon. Holy Water creates a damaging flame pillar on the ground, excellent for area denial.
Hidden Extra Life: After the first section of the bridge, you'll reach a small, crumbling tower structure. Climb to the very top of this structure. There's a hidden block on the left side of the top platform. Whip it to reveal an Extra Life. This is a critical find for extending your playthrough.
Stopwatch Sub-Weapon: Inside the Clock Tower, after dealing with the first few Gears and Medusa Heads, you'll find a candle on a central platform. This candle contains the Stopwatch sub-weapon, which temporarily freezes all on-screen enemies.
Large Heart: As you ascend the Clock Tower, you'll encounter a series of rotating gears. On one of the higher, stationary platforms between these gears, a candle will provide a Large Heart.
Hidden Money Bag (2000 points): Near the top of the Clock Tower, just before the boss entrance, there's a section with several breakable blocks. Whip the wall on the right side of this area to reveal a hidden Money Bag.
