Stage 7: Dracula's Throne Room

Welcome, brave adventurer, to the final confrontation! Dracula's Throne Room is the ultimate test of your skills and preparation. This stage is a gauntlet leading directly to the Dark Lord himself. Ensure you are fully healed, have your preferred sub-weapon, and are ready for the fight of your life.

Walkthrough

The path through the Throne Room is relatively linear, but don't let that fool you. Every step is designed to wear you down before you face Dracula.

  1. Initial Ascent: As you enter, you'll immediately face a series of stairs. Watch out for the Bone Pillars positioned strategically to fire projectiles. Use your whip to destroy their skulls quickly or jump over their attacks.
  2. First Platforming Section: After the stairs, you'll encounter a short platforming segment. There might be a few Fleamen or Medusa Heads here. Prioritize eliminating the Fleamen as their erratic movements can be dangerous.
  3. Corridor of Death: This long corridor is often guarded by multiple Axe Armors and potentially a Bone Golem.
    • Axe Armors: These armored foes throw axes in an arc. Approach cautiously, whip them when they pause, or use a well-timed jump and attack. The Axe sub-weapon can be very effective here, hitting them over their shields.
    • Bone Golem: If present, the Bone Golem is a large, slow-moving enemy. Attack its head for maximum damage. Be mindful of its bone projectile attack.
  4. Staircase to the Throne: The final ascent to Dracula's actual throne is usually guarded by more Bone Pillars and possibly a few Ghost enemies. Clear them out to ensure a clear path.

Item Locations & Strategies

  • Candles: There are several candles throughout the stage. Break them to collect hearts for your sub-weapons and occasional small money bags. Prioritize collecting hearts if you plan to rely heavily on sub-weapons for the upcoming boss fight.
  • Hidden Items: Keep an eye out for any suspicious blocks or wall sections. While less common in this final stage, a hidden Turkey (full health) or a large heart could be a lifesaver. Use your whip on walls that look out of place.
  • Sub-Weapon Choice:
    • Holy Water: Excellent for area denial and hitting enemies that are low to the ground. Can also stun some enemies.
    • Axe: Great for hitting enemies above you or over obstacles, like Axe Armors.
    • Boomerang (Cross): Provides good horizontal coverage and hits enemies on its return path. Very versatile.
    • Dagger: High rate of fire, but low damage. Less recommended for this stage unless you have the triple shot upgrade.
  • Health Management: This is crucial. Try to reach Dracula's chamber with as much health as possible. Avoid unnecessary damage from minor enemies. If you have a Turkey or Pork Chop in your inventory, save it for the boss fight if you're confident in your ability to navigate the stage without it.

Before the Boss

Once you reach the top of the final staircase, you'll enter the antechamber to Dracula's Throne. This is your last chance to prepare:

  • Sub-Weapon Check: Ensure you have your preferred sub-weapon equipped and a healthy supply of hearts. The Holy Water or Boomerang are generally excellent choices for the Dracula fight.
  • Health Check: If you're low on health and haven't found any healing items, consider using a Turkey or Pork Chop now if you have one.
  • Mental Preparation: Take a deep breath. Dracula is a formidable opponent. Understanding his patterns is key.

Proceed through the grand archway, and prepare to face the Lord of Darkness himself!
