Boss: Minotaur & Werewolf

This tag-team boss fight takes place in the Colosseum, a challenging area within the Normal Castle. These two formidable foes require a balanced approach to overcome. While the Minotaur is slow and powerful, the Werewolf is fast and agile, making for a dynamic battle.

Recommended Preparation

  • Level: Aim for at least Level 20-25. If you're struggling, consider grinding a few levels. The spiked ball in the Chapel is a good spot for experience.
  • Weapons:
    • Melee: The Damascus Sword or Holy Sword are excellent choices at this stage of the game. Their damage output will be crucial.
    • Sub-Weapon: The Holy Water is highly recommended. It deals significant damage to both bosses and can help control the Werewolf's aggressive movements.
  • Armor & Accessories: Equip your best defensive gear to mitigate damage. Any accessories that boost strength or defense will be beneficial.
  • Healing Items: Stock up on Potions and High Potions. You'll likely need them.

Strategy

The key to this fight is managing both enemies simultaneously, but prioritizing the faster, more annoying Werewolf first will make the fight much easier. The Minotaur, while strong, is slow and predictable.

Phase 1: Focus the Werewolf

  1. Initial Engagement: As soon as the fight begins, focus all your attacks on the Werewolf. Its speed and erratic movements make it a constant threat.
  2. Holy Water Spam: If you have Holy Water equipped, use it liberally against the Werewolf. It will deal consistent damage and can briefly stun or slow him down, creating openings for your melee attacks.
  3. Dodge and Weave: The Werewolf will often charge at you or perform quick claw attacks. Learn his patterns and use Alucard's backdash to avoid damage.
  4. Minotaur Management: While focusing on the Werewolf, be mindful of the Minotaur. He will perform slow, powerful swings with his axe. These are usually well-telegraphed, giving you time to move out of the way. Do not get cornered between the two.
  5. Soul Steal (if needed): If your health starts to drop significantly during this phase, consider using the Soul Steal spell (B, F, DF, D, BF, B, F + Attack). It can provide a much-needed burst of healing.

Phase 2: Finish the Minotaur

  1. Solo Minotaur: Once the Werewolf is defeated, the Minotaur becomes a much less threatening opponent. His attacks are slow and easily avoidable.
  2. Consistent Damage: Get in close, land a few hits with your primary weapon, and then backdash away to avoid his axe swings. Repeat this pattern.
  3. Sub-Weapon Usage: Continue to use Holy Water if you have MP to spare, as it will chip away at his health.
  4. Patience is Key: Don't rush. Take your time, dodge his attacks, and land your hits when safe.
