Strategy:
This is a unique encounter. DO NOT KILL RICHTER! If you defeat him, you get the bad ending. Your goal is to destroy the green orb controlling him, which is cast by Shaft. First, ensure you have the Holy Glasses equipped (purchased from the Librarian after acquiring Form of Mist). With the Holy Glasses on, you will see a green orb floating above Richter.
Richter is still dangerous, using his whip, various sub-weapons (Holy Water, Axe, Cross), and powerful item crashes. Dodge his attacks while focusing on hitting the orb. The Bat form can be useful for flying up to hit the orb, but be careful of his aerial attacks. Use your strongest weapons and sub-weapons to quickly destroy the orb. Once the orb is destroyed, Richter will be freed, and the castle will invert.
Reward: Unlocks the Inverted Castle and the true ending path.
